Blonde hair swayed in the wind as he leaned over the open window staring out into the court yard bellow. Yawning his hand paused over his face. His unkempt blonde hair swirling around his shoulders. He took a deep breath. He the court yard bellow had streamers hanging over the area. The streamers were triangular on a line as which swayed in the same wind. The colors of the festivities were blue and silver.
“... Finally.. It’s here.” He sighed with a slight smile. His back hunched over the window ledge. He should feel joy or some other feeling than sadness. It wasn’t a feeling that he was familiar with having. “... Ardan elieth.” A foreign language slipping off his tongue, which loosely translated to a day of birth. Today was his birthday which was also the Day of Stars. A kingdom tradition. He’d ranked high during his Knight training. He should be glowing with pride or joy. Instead, he was wishing he had more time. Time to spend with him.
Soon like others he’d be sent to the front lines. To the terrible war that had started between the dark elves and the mortals of Giddeon. The light elves, such as himself had the job of trying to stop the dark elves from eradicating the mortal race. Elves weren’t mortal. Dark Elves had a natural affinity for dark magic.
This ball was the last night, Glorifel would be in the same room as Prince Alistar for a while. Glorifel had accomplished his dreams. Dreams that would pull him away from the one person whom he wished to protect. The court yard was silent. Too quiet.
Fear rippled through him as flashes of horrors of the thought of the Dark Elves trampling over everyone he cared about raced though his mind. He shook his head harshly as his hair swirled around him, he gripped both sides of the window ceil before tapping his face with both his hands. “Enough of that.” He tapped himself.
If he did his job well, and if security was high as it should be, then nothing would happen. Nothing would happen to his sweet Prince and the citizens of Aluminom.
“I have nothing to fear.” Frowning he swirled around. He looked toward his knew Knight gear hanging on a wooden mannequin in the corner. The top was blue with an ornate silver collar. Silver handcuffs and silver buttons and other markings. The rest of the cloth was the same color blue as the streamers bellow. The crest of Aluminom was two twisted silver snakes which was printed in a silver glowing print on the back of the Knight cape which was attached to the shoulder portion of the garment.
As he stared at his new uniform. He knew he ought to get dressed. A hungry pang in his stomach caused his fleshy feet to take another step toward the uniform. The matching boots on the side of the mannequin. The matching pants were very much the same texture and ornate as the other garment.
“...I should get moving.” He shook his head in defiance of the feeling of ill intent as he reached toward the mannequin. “We are safe here.” There had been no reports of the Dark Elves anywhere near the castle.
Freeing the hem of his bottoms, he reached forward to the mannequin. As he changed into his new attire.
