I was so scared for my life. She was there running around like a kid in the field. She seemed so dumb but full of life that my heart couldn’t stop pounding. I felt the lump in my throat and knew I was out of time. 

I saw her fall into a couple of flowers sending petals into the air and I could help but laugh. 

“Ha ha ha” She looked over at me and rolled her eyes but smiled still. She came over and sat next to me and asked.

“So Y/C how is your condition..?” She was always worried about me. Ever since we started high school I’d cough up blood and petals. My mother and I went to the doctors but they didn’t know what was wrong. After several months they knew it was based on my emotions and gave me meds to help make me feel numb. Ever since I told her she never left my side, always treating each day like it was my last and tried to make me happy.

“I’m alright, not worse, not better.” She nodded at that and smiled a bit, probably glad that I’d be okay.
