I smiled as a watched a wolf pack run by. Its unusual for me to smile because I have few things to smile about. Only sunsets, wolves, and the dream that I might be free again.
That's all a could think as the ground raced under me, my feet barely touching the ground. I heard shouting behind me and a voice inside telling me to run, so that's what I did. I ran and ran with the voices behind me getting louder with heavy footsteps. Speeding up I swerved over my left only to get tackled by one of the men chasing me. I rolled out from under him getting up to keep running stopping to see that I am now surrounded. Six men I counted, all in a circle around me with some of them holding guns and others chains.
I bared my teethe at them trying to look as threatening as possible. As one of the men twitched preparing to move closer I bolted in the opposite direction. And I almost made it past them before crashing down to the ground again with the cold feeling of metal and pain around my ankles. Quickly a few men step forward to hold me down. I swing my legs around knocking one of them down.
" You can't take me, I'm no use to you," I yelled untangling from the chains.
The leader laughed sending three more men towards me before I can get up. "Oh dear, I have plenty of use for you. All you have to do is be patient," the leader said as I struggle out of their grasp. I was about to get out from under them when a boot comes down on my temple and my vision flickers. The last thing I saw was a metal collar getting locked around my neck collecting drops of blood from my skull.
