As Michi walked to the turf war building, her pink rubber boots splashing in the rain. She knew it would be closed, as it always had been for the past two years. There was that same old sign, it said, " Closed... for now!" To the side, it had a little picture of Judd the cat dancing with his son, Lil Judd.
She then crumpled to the ground, tears dripping down her face. Too many bad things had happened these past two years. First her sister went missing, then her boyfriend. And then her best friend had started cutting herself, and she didn't stop. And then something happened on Inkygram that she didn't want to talk about.
"Hey."
There was a male inkling, his ink color yellow-green.
It couldn't be him, she thought. It couldn't.
Michi scanned him from his feet. He was wearing black octoling boots, and they made out of leather; they reminded her of Luna.
Luna, her beloved octoinkling sister. Michi stared at the turf war building again, and she thought about how proud her sister would be as she saw how many turf wars she had won these past two years.
She looked at the male inkling again, with dried tears that made a pinkish shade on her. He was wearing a... Black Inky Rider!
It was him!
Michi got up, her eyes watering. Suddenly she started to sob as she barely took a step, and she was about to fall, when the inkling caught her.
"Hey, hey, don't cry! I'm here... Michi."
"You came back... Rider."
She continued to sob, until she could sob no more. She then fell asleep in his arms. He took the keys to the apartment they used to share in her pocket. They were kind of rusty. Still, they seemed satisfying, jingling in the wind like that.
