*Athena's POV*

I was in my bedchamber when I heard a loud pounding at my door. I got out of my warm bed and stalked to the door grumpily, slamming the door open. I saw it was one of the many castle guards. I spat out "What the hell do you want?". The castle guard bowed down to me and said apologetically "I'm sorry princess, your father ordered me to escort you to the throne room immediately." I thought to myself what does he want now? Has he found out about her? A jolt of fear ran through my spine if he found out about Astraea, I'll never be able to see her again, and I could be executed for having a relationship with her. Oh, I forgot to mention, in this world the LGBTQ community is completely forbidden, if one is caught having an affair with the same gender, you can be executed or you have to get you powers removed through a painful process called the removal, they cut symbols of the angel language into your skin, also did I mention you can die if you go through this process?

I said to the guard before winking "I'll be right out, just let me get dressed." she blushed slightly. I shut my door before getting dressed in my armor, and I grabbed my spear and shield. I opened the door, enjoying the feeling of my armor, feeling more confident, I walked towards the throne room, remembering the guard, I told her to go to her duties, but she told me that the king wanted her to escort me to make sure I got there "safely". Although I knew he was just making sure I wasn't distracted by the elaborate gardens that I loved so much, I knew every plant, tree, and flower by name. My favorite was the deadly nightshade, aka the Belladonna because it reminded me of Astraea. I aloud the guard to follow me as we walked into the huge dining hall for the warriors. I came up to the huge double doors before waiting on the guard, and motioned for her to come towards me then whispered in her ear "keep Astraea safe, and I will keep your secret safe" i said before looking around to make sure no one was looking, then I kissed her forehead and told her to go to her duties. I then pushed the huge double doors open.
