Orcs.

Orcs.

Jan 02, 2018

The Orcs of Ayrhlan¹ consist of several groups. Most people know only about the Orcs because they are used as boogeymen that live in pits and there are enough tribes that fit the moniker. But there are also the noble Orcs that have created their own City-state and the Orcs that are neither boogeymen nor noble.

The most common Orcs are called 'Roarers', believers of Roargh the god of rage. They live almost everywhere from Froz to Quelle. The different tribes have no connection to each other except for their god and love for war, which they gladly wage upon each other.

When they band together they can become a problem, but they always fall to infighting and rivalries. They are seen as filth by most other races even by their enlightened brethren who do not follow their raging god.

The noble ones are called the High-Orcs by the other races and True Orcs or just Orcs by themselves. They live in the lands of Quekarn and believe in the god Kurago. They have a disposition for Psionic powers that they believe connects them to the Kurago bloodline. They have allied themselves with Humans and Dwarfs and formed the Scardain Triumvirate² that tried to conquer the world.

Their leader is a Battlemind called Fasgur Samarit, who leads with his trusted advisers³. Together they create a better life for their Orcs and grow their influence on the world.

They have no love for the - In their eyes. - lower Orcs and would rather see them gone. They have relocated entire armies of lower Orcs to battlefields over the whole world only to deny all connections to those Orcs and leaving them to die. Only in the rare event that one of those Orcs gets enlightened they move heaven and earth to extract them.

There are Orcs that are neither part of the Roarers nor affiliated with the High-Orcs. These are the Orcs of the Garralan Isles who follow Gormen⁴ and the Orc followers of Sairan⁵. The Gormenites are isolated and protected by the storm around their islands and live a shamanistic life. The Sairanites mingle freely with the other races on the ships flying under the banner of Sairan and travel the seas.

There are more groups, but the aforementioned are the most influential for Orcish culture and their impact on Ayrhlan.
