Aeons ago, the only thing in existence was the void, half full and half empty, with only one occupant: the Mother. When there was nothing, she gave us everything, and so she gave birth to our universe. A vast universe full of star systems and endless galaxies, and her last creations: the centre star system, and her three children, born of her last breaths of life force: Jkaill, and the twins, Faereth and Dellmere.
Jkaill was the eldest child and the one most affected by his mother’s death, so he became a part of the universe’s void and became the god of darkness. He ruled gracefully over the night skies throughout the entire universe.
Faereth and Dellmere were twins, born to finish their mother’s work and populate the centre Star System, which they later called the Faedell System. Faereth became the god of fire and the sparks of life. An aggressive man whose sole purpose was to finish his mother’s work no matter what it took. Dellmere, on the other hand, was kind, emotional, but still a little stubborn. She became the goddess of waters and dreams.
While Jkaill was lurking the voids of the verse, the twins started their only, but toughest, job. They populated and grew life throughout the system, giving each planet and each race their rich characteristics and forms. After they were done with their task, they decided to form a place where they could rest for eternity and watch over their creation. So the twins fused their life forces to become the Star that both illuminated and continued to give life to Faedell. The sun that we know as Gardgana Din’Esta (in Al’Lingua), better known as The Guardian Star. And so that is how the Supreme Forces created what we now know as our home, the Faedell System, with its seven planets.
Jkeyll, the dark planet, inhabited by the Ikailkin or Ashins in their language, tall humanoid creatures with bodies made of ash and a mineral from their planet that was in continuous gas state, ressembling dark matter. They appeared to have power over this mineral, being able to shape it at their will and control it completely. They praised Jkaill, the god of darkness. Jkeyll was the tiniest planet in Faedell and the one furthest from the centre star, which explains its lack of light and freezing temperatures.
Then we have Lochby, a planet with a body that consists of 95% water and oceans. Inhabited by the Merellian or Lochkin, creatures half human, half triton. They venerate Dellmere, the force they feel most attached to. Some Merellians seem to control water in every state or communicate with subaquatic life beings, be it animals or plants. Some of them can manipulate weather, but this seems to be a weirder gift than the others. Although having half triton bodies, they were able to become fully human when they needed to go to the surface. The only detail was that the legs would have a scale-ish look, which they proudly carry with them.
Noonia was the selvatic planet occupied by the Gaiakin, or Baos. The only thing they venerated and still do nowadays was mother nature, as they are one with every plant and being on the planet. Baos are all connected to the Tri’Madar, which is the Mother Tree that comprehends basically the entire planet mass, with its roots going through and twisting around all Noonia. Those born with any form of majka could manipulate plants and any type of flora, control animals, bend fire, earth or water. Some even learned to gain some type of control over weather, given their relationship with Lochby is very much tight.
We can also find Clearelf, with a celestial body made entirely of gas and clouds, and inhabited by the Altiddan or Filkin. The only thing made of solid matter on the planet are constructions and buildings made by the Altiddan, such as houses. They are not affected by gravity on this planet given the planet doesn’t have enough of it to force them to stay on the surface, but the atmosphere is dense enough to decompose any gas bodies that evacuate the planet. A few of them venerate the Force Faereth, which I find strange given that Clearelf has no relation whatsoever with what this Supreme represents. Maybe they feel attached to some other deity, but I will touch the subject in another chapter. Let’s focus on this for now.
These creatures are made of air, almost transparent, but they have a small ball in their chest made of pure energy, also known as ig’alah, which translates as ‘the feeling’, which works as their aura and source of power. The main ability of the Altiddan is transfiguration or shapeshifting, which explains their main body as being transparent and almost invisible to ease their job when they shapeshift. Some of them specialize in humans, others in animals. There is an infinite amount of sources for them to inspire their transformations. The only thing they have to do is touch the living being and absorb their life force to equal it. A fascinating species.
Vaxan is the tech planet occupied by humans merely known as Vaxans, which only belief is put in technology, science, and human efforts. They don’t believe in the Supreme Forces, even though they recognize their existence. Vaxans don’t want to succumb to their power, and they refuse to give them any form of belief. They like to specialize in weapons, for they have a lust for war and power over other races. They have a very tough relationship with almost the entire system, given they despise the Forces, and they would like to diminish their power.
We also have Orlea, the golden planet, also known as Auritania. Inhabited by the Orleans or Aurekin, who are very tall humans, with pointy ears, light skin, golden hair and golden eyes, golden as the waters of Ceenoriel’s lake, the one surrounding the Orlean Library, the biggest one in the entire system. It contains all information ever known or required by anyone. Since childhood, Orleans must be taught the ways of the Sapia or knowledge, and they all learn from memory every piece of information kept in the library so when they leave, if they do, they can gather any new information faster. Their abilities, besides great wisdom and even greater memory, go from the manipulation of light in all its forms, to the power of transforming any type of physical object or body mass into gold. One of the rarest abilities we can find in an Orlean. And by rare, I mean one out of five hundred thousand people. Of course, no Orlean would admit to having this ability if you ask them because the ones that do have it are persecuted and trafficked on the system’s black market, and they end up as slaves living in the worst environments possible.
Last but not least, we have the balance planet, Aelhaven. Occupied by humans better known as Aelkin or Almeads, this planet is the economic, social, and cultural centre of Faedell. Its inhabitants believe in both Supreme Forces as equals. They believe in the balance between the two of them, the light and the dark, the good and the bad. It’s the closest planet to the Din’Esta.
We can’t exactly categorize their abilities, given there is a complete mixture because of the mix of creatures, cultures, and etc. We can say that their powers are mostly based on the pure form of majka, which is channeling it in the form of spells to modify reality at will or wielding it as elemental magic.
In Aelhaven, you can also find Ayrede’s Oracle, the Porta Gardgana, or Gate Guardian. The direct connection and bridge to the Supreme Forces. Given its importance, the temple is located on the top of the planet highest point, Ayrede’s Peak. This site is located in Aelhaven’s capital city, Aelhollow, where we can also find Aelhollow Academy, the school where majkakin from every corner of the system learn how to control their abilities. The Academy was founded by the first users of majka in the System and Esta fili’um (or star children) of the Forces, later known as the A’tiquae. They did this because they saw the need for instruction and great opportunity for learning in the abilities they had just received as a gift from the Supremes.
Faedell, star system great and vast. Full of different types of life, beings, planets, and cultures. Full of magic, light, and darkness. Visiting each and every one of these planets was an amazing experience and one of the greatest opportunities of my entire life. An adventure worth living. I’m leaving this brief resume in hopes that it could be useful to someone, someday, be it need or for pure pleasure of learning.
If you wish to learn more, you can search in my work for the extended volumes where I recall my adventures and experiences in these places.
I hope you can enjoy reading this as much as I did living it.
Until later trips.
