From a distance, a loud crash and chant from various voices can be heard. It's more like someone is fighting. But what are they fighting for? With whom do they fight with? 

“Mom… Dad… It's dark here…” whine a young girl while she try to find an escape. “I can help you guys too… LET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!!” her scream and kick on the wall got no response. 

Suddenly a small firefly came out from her chest..? A familiar warm voice from the firefly, “My dear daughter, Haibara… I hope you won't meet this firefly, but if it does. This is our last gift for you. Your mom and dad really love you. Stay free and do not live for revenge. Be happy, love.” The firefly’s light became brighter after the last messages ended.

That damn dream…again… “Haaah…” A heavy sigh released by a silky long black hair girl. Her sigh caught the attention of her mates that were riding in the same carriages.

“Such a heavy sigh you let out there, Haibara. I’m impressed that you can sleep while we are on our way to finish our mission.” said by a guy with blond hair who is a part of this mercenaries group, Alex.

“I’m not sleeping… Just taking a quick nap” she replied nonchalantly.

“Isn't that the same thing?” a brown hair guy, Usofy chuckles at her reply. Suddenly  a man in his late 40's with dark silver hair interrupted their chat “We are almost there, be prepared, remember our plan…” Ash reminds them. Everyone in the carriage responded by nodding except for two guys. Apparently, there are 5 people in the carriages driven by Ash.

The carriages stop in the middle of the woods. Everyone prepares their gears right after they land their feet on the ground. A sudden voice rose from the group of 6.

“Don’t you think we should revise our plan again? I mean, to be honest we are not sure if it's a good idea to put that little girl to be our front line.” The brown shirt guy said while his eyes glare at Haibara. “If it was for taking the enemy's attention by using her as a decoy, it might work. But for this situation, we don't need any decoy, all we need is to eliminate and get the item. I think it's better to put someone else with more experience at the front line.” he added while shaking his head slowly showing his displeasure with the plan.

“I agree with him. It’s not that we don’t believe in our leader's decision, but the number of enemies is triple than ours. This is like a suicide mission with our number of members.” The marron attire guy seconded the opinion. “I admit that she had a great amount of mana for someone at her age. But magic only won't hold us for long.” his eyes focus on Haibara, then release a deep sigh. 

Initially this group only consisted of four  members which were Haibara, Ash, Alex and Usofy. Only for some missions will they recruit  more members to fulfill the requirements stated by the Guild.

“Well, she might look like a little girl that needs protection…” Usofy pat Haibara’s head since she is much shorter than Usofy. “...but believe us. She already experienced the death situation nume-...” Usofy words stop at the moment he realizes Haibara is not beside him in the blink of an eye. 

The moment Usofy's eyes landed on the maroon attire guy, he saw Haibara already in the position to threaten the maroon guy.

The maroon guy was forced to bend backward since Haibara locked his neck.“I’m pretty sure you are not an idiot who wants to make last minute changement in our plan after 1 week we prepared for this.” Haibara whispers through the maroon guy's ear, enough for the others to hear. “Every minute we waste here by arguing might cost a life from our side.” Haibara tightens her grip from behind while her left index finger on his vital point at the side neck. “Not that I truly care for your life…” Her nails slowly grow sharp  and cause a little pain on his side of the neck while her eyes start glowing in magenta color. 

Argh!! My back!! When was she behind me… I’m pretty sure she was in between Usofy and Ash before… Fuck! I can't lose her grip at all… The maroon guy panicked a little. 

“What are you doing?! Stop joking around!!” The brown guy said in rage while he looked at other members, hoping for help from them.

“She is not joking…” Alex said nonchalantly while Usofy palm his face as they already expect this situation.

“So will you guys settle down now?” Ash looked at both of the guys who panicked.

“Do something!” the maroon guy in Haibara arms rage.

“We can’t stop her… Only you guys can do it…” Usofy said while shrugging. “Before this, there was someone who was in the same situation as you, they still wanted to change the plan last minute and… they lost their lives…” he added while gesturing his thumb across his neck. “I mean it's their fault for not saying something at the beginning… Only if they say it one day early” Usofy said with a displeased face.

“Fine!!! We will follow as planned!!” The guy who got neck lock by Haibara surrendered. “Good..” Haibara released him. The maroon guy was still in shock but the situation went calm quickly.

Haibara looks at the evening sky. Soon the sun will set. She thought to herself. “I will go ahead… Wait for my signal…” Haibara said.

“Be careful…” Ash said in a calm tone, but his face showed a little worried expression. She nodded with a poker face and disappeared from their sight less in a second.

“Hey… Is it true she killed one of your mates before?” asked the brown guy.

“Nahh… It’s a lie for us to make in order to persuade guys like you.” Usofy chuckles while gesturing a ‘no-no’ sign.
“But it’s not a lie that she is a strong girl. She is the expert in this line of work actually.” Alex continued. Usofy nodded and smiled proudly at Alex’s statement.

“Stop smiling like proud parents…You're not the one I’m praising… Your smile is disgusting… Even Ash did not smile like that… Tch..” Alex clicks his tongue.

“How can I not act like a proud parent when we have watched over her for the past 6 years… I still remember our first meeting with Ash and Haibara.” Usofy talks like a madman who imagines his crush.  

“Wait! Did you mean she has been in this line for 6 years??!!” How old is she?” ask the new guy.

“She is turning 16 soon if I am not mistaken… Right, Ash?” Alex looks at Ash for confirmation. Ash nodded and the response caused the new guys shocks in disbelief.

“That small girl who looks like 13…but… A girl with man strength… even I… I can escape from her arm lock… Just what kind of life she have live…” The victim of Haibara's armlock mumbled.

Ash silently stared at the orange sky that slowly turned dark while hearing his mates talking about his lovely niece. The time has come… Ash releases a deep breath as if he has made a big decision for someone's life.
