Appearance:         Alchies are humanoid and do not have another form.  To Vist, they appear to have an aura that works almost like a mirror, reflecting back at people.

Abilities:                Alchies have the ability to change the nature of someone or something that they interact with.  The exact nature of this depends on the alchie, but for one alchie, looking at something may mean turning it to stone; to another, touching someone turns them to gold; and to another, singing may turn everything within hearing range into a gemstone.  Ultimately, alchie magic will change the person or thing permanently.  Some species might survive, if they are species like demons or unicorns, for instance, that may be able to regenerate the part of their body affected, but most species will die if an alchie uses their magic on them.  Alchies are unable to control this magic beyond limiting the particular activity, such as looking at, touching, or singing.  Alchie magic does not work on other alchies, however.

                                Alchies don’t usually bother learning hearth magic because they can essentially destroy anyone who attempts to break in by simply using their magic on them.  They also rarely value possessions much since many of them can easily make money with their magic.  In theory, alchie hearth magic would either turn the house’s exterior into whatever magic the alchie has (ex: gold or stone) or would simply start to turn an invader into whatever magic the alchie has.

Alignment:            Alchie magic is nature oriented.  Alchies are not normally aligned with any particular species and, due to their inability in many cases to interact safely with others, they tend to be fairly solitary and paranoid about dealing with other people.

Lifespan:               Alchies can live about 200 years, but they rarely do.  Many alchies are not happy with their limited ability to interact with the world and personality around them and don’t wish to suffer that long.  Many alchies are also not inclined to have children if given the opportunity.

Personality:           Alchies tend to be somewhat paranoid about interacting with others and/or withdrawn or depressed due to their difficulties interacting with others.  Some alchies may be able to interact more easily, such as just not singing, but even then, the alchie is likely to constantly be reminding themselves not to hum along or sing along to music they like, etc.

Known hybrid variants:      None known.  Since alchies cannot always safely interact with non-alchies, having offspring that is not a union between two alchies is rare.
