Kai opened his eyes still feeling exhausted a bright light interrupted his sleep, he sat up and saw a floating sword, his eyes widened, and he smiled, he reached over grabbing it with a smiled.
The Morning
Kai walked down the steps with a smile, everyone quickly noticed, and his mom was the first to look over noticing the sword that seemed to be made from some black metal "Where did you get that?" She asked worried Kai smiled causing the sword to swoosh and move around, "All those years of training have paid off Mom I have my own Magical item."
Kai looked at his drink and sighed, "Damn, that sucks, with the whole family yelling at you bit." Kai looked at his friend, "Was my idea that bad, Lucas?" Lucas nodded slightly, "Even if I had my own MI, I would never go into those tournaments, especially when you have a kid coming along as well as you don’t know what your ability is. Hell have you even told Alice?” Alex looked away as he began to get upset, “Dude, please inform her as my sister deserves to know, even if she can be hard on you at times.”
Kai looked once more at his drink and saw his reflection, a possible future he had dreamt up, with his girlfriend and future kid, before he knew it he was in front of her, of Alice watching as she looked at him fearing for his life but also hateful of him, she slammed the door leaving him in the rain.
Kai looked up as he reminisced, he held up his blade and heard the people cheer waiting for him, the new guy of the arena to get killed by a rank C fighter who fought for years. “As you can see Tiger back, is prepping for his attack will the new guy survive.” Tiger raised a fist but only lifted one as a burst of light emerged like the sun but weaker and less hot “Starving sun.” he slammed his arm down and soon his attack followed, Kai looked at his attack anxious on what to do, he's only had his sword for a week and still hasn't figured out his abilities. But he quickly aimed the point of his sword toward the fake sun, in his mind a book appeared with his imagination he opened the book and saw what he needed to do.
Opening his eyes he saw a brief picture he jumped forward and jumped, enhancing his jumping height through magic, and he stabbed the sun “Eternal strike back.” he said, and before he knew it the man and his fake sun were gone with only a burnt spot on the ground, left to show he was there.
A man held up to the air a massive hammer the hammer itself was not unique in any way, with it being only made from a strange material, it glowed a bright yellow as well as the man's eyes he smirked, at a man shorter than him as he slammed his hammer the man blocked with the point of his own weapon, wiping the smirk off the man "How can you do that?" he asked angrily "These items provide unique properties to their user, yours allow you to carry heavy objects at maximum 400 pounds, all dependent on how much you weigh." the man who carried the hammer kicked the sword carrier in the chest throwing him across the arena "How the hell do you know that!" he yelled, "Are you a stalker?" The sword carrier smiled, "Dumbass civilians aren't the only ones with access to our interviews." He said holding his sword back, the blade glowed blue, and he jumped forward faster than the eye could see he slashed at the hammer then the man cutting him down and destroying his hammer.
Everyone cheered and clapped, "And where we have it, The Knight destroyed the brute within 2 hours, for those who've had bets on the Knight, come and get your money.
An hour later
The Sword carrier sheathed his sword and sighed wiping the sweat off his forehead someone surprised him by patting his back "Good job Kai, that guy seriously held his place as Number 1 for too long, and now your weapon is stronger as well as you and add the fact you're the new number one." Kai sighed and rubbed his forehead "Just send the betting money to my account." the manager sighed "what even is your unique powers, as you refused to do the whole interview thing, was the whole super speed thing it?" Kai held out his hand, summoning a small blue flame, "My sword allows me to use magic like power, if I wanted to I could have burned away at the man with just this alone." The manager looked at him shocked, "What stopped you?" Kai smiled he looked at the manager like he was carrying a big secret only he knew, "Anyhow sir don't expect me for the next 6 months." The manager looked at him semi-pissed off, "What for, I need my new champ to fight?" Kai stood up his sword reflected light toward the manager's eyes causing him to quickly blink, and before he knew it Kai was gone having took his stuff with him as well.
He reappeared at some port, and quickly he looked around but saw no one else around so he got onto a ship and saw a relatively well-dressed man "Welcome Kai have you told your relatives of your trip?" Kai shrugged, "Hadn't got the time with my work and all, plus a major part of my family is already here." The man groaned and bit his bottom lip, "Still think it's pretty dumb bringing a child with us." Kai smiled, "His asshat of a mom didn't want him at her place and my parents are decently busy having to deal with some dungeon on some crappy island, so he'll be fine here, Brice." Brice looked at Kai unamused, "You're not getting what I'm trying to tell you, out of the 10 groups we've sent through the barrier to the other world only 2 came back, at least with Corpus's kid has a Magical item, yours doesn't. And it isn't just the barrier that is dangerous, it is the island itself." Kai raised his hands, "Dawn can watch his own back as well as I can, you have no worries. And I am the strongest out of the group, so I won't have an issue also watching mine."
