On one side of the world, Russia remains engaged in a war against Ukraine and, as a last-ditch measure, they initiate the Thanatos project: the creation of a biological weapon to emerge victorious from the war.
Conversely, the nations outside the war lead their lives as normal. In Rio de Janeiro, Valter's family travels to Saquarema for the end-of-year holidays. Valter plans to visit him because he is close to the town where his friend Ian lives.
What no one, anywhere in the world, expected was that a poorly executed biological weapon would create a deadly virus, turning thousands into bodies that are neither dead nor alive, just thirsty for blood.
Amid the chaos unleashed, Valter and Ian try to survive and find each other and then set off in search of a community that has been spreading hope.
