On the morning of May 21, 2017 around 2:00 in the morning, a family was brutally murdered all in the same bed, and tucked in together. The sheriff arrived after everyone else had gotten there first. Sheriff Paul Tibbs shook his head "it's him." He said. One of his deputies walked over and asked him "who is it sir?" "Thomas Sinston as he told Deputy Marshall." The sheriff replied.
"Isn't he dead, or am I mistaken his family is entirely dead." "His son was snatched from his wife, while she was getting him something to snack on in a mini mart by a pedophile and she never saw him again." She did call the police well us, but they couldn't find him."
"Also, I heard that she went home every night reading a bedtime story that she would usually read to her son." Deputy Marshall said. "Well yes that is all true, but it's clues left behind to see after every crime scene like she wants me specifically to pay for what happened to her son since I was sheriff then as well." Sheriff Tibbs said.
"Then if that's the case then why do you think that it's Thomas sir?" Deputy Marshall asked. "Do you know how Thomas died?" Sheriff Tibbs asked. "No sir I do not." He replied. "Well Thomas was home invaded the night of his death the rest of his family was not home at the time, and it was someone he owed money because he borrowed it to buy his son something special for his birthday." "Nevertheless, Thomas didn't keep his word and didn't live up to the end of his bargain."
The man came and he started knocking on the door and yelled to be let in Thomas never opened the door but decided to call the Chatham Colorado Police Department." "No one else was here they were all out on another call, so I had to go out to his home and respond to the burglary." "Yes, before you even ask me that's what he reported was happening that a burglar was trying to break in." Sheriff Tibbs said. "So, what happened when you arrived there?" Deputy Marshall asked. When I got there the door was kicked open and all of the lights were off except one room."
"By the time I entered the room that was lit up by the only light still on it was the master bedroom that he and his wife slept in. I saw that Thomas on his knees with his hands tied up and a white sheet over his face begging for his life." "The man put the rounds in the gun and then he was about to pull the trigger." While I was trying to make it over to the man quietly" Thomas said if you do this I'll never forgive you, and I will hunt you down until I find you after death!" "Anyway, the man started pulling the trigger back on his .50 caliber magnum." I saw Thomas grab at one of the man's knees."
Unfortunately, he started stumbling for a quick second and noticed me" "Then he looked at me and asked" "Who am I?" He said. "Then Thomas grabbed at the man's other knee, and that's when I took my opportunity I tackled him to the ground." "Tragically enough he still shot Thomas while we were falling to the ground." When we hit the ground, he fell on top of me and he started pointing his .50 caliber at me." "It was a bad situation or at least that's what he thought." "You learn from your mistakes deputy, and so I did."
"Ever since that one bad incident that led to my partner's death when I was a rookie." "I always carry a small snub nosed .22 magnum in my boot." Sheriff Tibbs said. "So, you shot him?" Deputy Marshall asked. "Noo boy I drew it and put it to his skull and told him if I feel any breeze of air your dead Swiley."
"Swiley?" "So, you knew him?" Deputy Marshall asked. "No not personally that was just his nickname that he went by here." "I took him outside and threw him in the car then ran back in to check on Thomas, but he was already gone a bullet to the stomach." "I got down on my knees checking to see if it was anything that could have been evidence against Swiley, then Thomas faintly spoke" and said, "It's not over."
However, I did see a note in front of Thomas written by him in blood that he had used from his wound to write what he needed to say while I was putting Swiley in the car." "The note said, "to those I dearly love I am sorry." "So, then I took Swiley down to the CPD." Sheriff Tibbs said. "So, what happened after all of that?" Deputy Marshall asked.
"I'll tell you later all I can say for now is that it's been a lot of brutal murders, and I would say that Thomas Sinston has kept up one promise and that is" "it's not over." Tibbs replied. So Sheriff Tibbs and Deputy Marshall left after everyone else left to headback to the station. As Sheriff Tibbs getting out of the car closing his door "hey do you think you'll catch whoever it is doing this?" Deputy Marshall asked. Walking into the station with disgust that another murder happened in his town under his nose again.
"Hold your head down and keep your mouth closed we just witnessed a family of five die." "We'll wait on the autopsy to see how they exactly died and go on from there." Sheriff Tibbs stated. As both of them are walking back to their separate desk a patrol woman walks up to the sheriff and tells him. "Sir it's all clear I didn't see anything out there on CleavenLeaf Avenue." "OK thank you umm uhh what's your name again?" He replied. "It's OK sir I'm still a new face here to everyone and I'm Officer Sally Lock-heart." She said. Then another officer came out from a room in the back where he was working and told the sheriff "turn on the TV look at the news!" He exclaimed.
"What for Officer Doley?" Sheriff TIbbs responded. "Quickly sir you need to see this!" He said. So Sheriff Tibbs turned on the TV to the news and saw that reporters were at the crime scene of the latest massacre. They were standing outside the home and one reporter started telling everyone enough is enough we've had at least a dozen people murdered in two days viciously.
Furthermore another reporter came out and said why do we have a sheriff if people keep dying. Nevertheless a final reporter spoke and told everybody that when nightfall comes get inside because everyone is dying between either 12:00 and 5:00 in the morning. That's usually means bedtime for some of you when nightfall hits the reported said.
All of sudden the sheriff's cellphone starts ringing and it's the Mayor. "Mayor Linlee" he said. "Don't you call my name do you see what the hell happening on the news?" "How the hell could you let this happen I knew once they re-elected you you would fuck up!" "NOW YOU LISTEN HERE, YOU HERE ME WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER AKALEANEAN MASSACRE!" "I want you to fix this Paul I have a daughter and son their both scared to be awoke at night."
"As sheriff I'm counting on you to keep this under wraps and get the SON OF BITCH whose doing this!" "If you can't you know I can make some calls and find somebody who can, I don't want to turn on the news and see another slaughter, no answer, or no person in custody." "By any means Paul get the job done." "I understand Mayor, but we can't just"-- interrupted by the sound of an ended call. Sheriff Tibbs threw his cellphone to the ground and he walker over to the mini fridge they kept at the station and small cup of water and then grabbed his pills out the his desk drawer. He took Prozac for his depression and soon he took them. The phone to the station rung and Deputy Marshall answered and he told the caller "OK mam find a way to stay safe we're on our way." As he hung up the phone.
"What is it now at 4:30 in the morning?" Sheriff Tibbs asked. "A woman has reported someone trying to break in her house and she has a child with her." Deputy Marshall responded. "Come on let's go then" TIbbs said as they run out to the car. "Did she say what street she was on?" Tibbs asked. "301 Delane Rd." Marshall responded. "Did she say what house it was?" Tibbs asked. "The house at the very end it was a cul-de-sac she told me." Marshall responded.
They finally arrived their after five minutes or so and then they see the door kicked in and they run in all the lights off they have their flashlights on. Running all the way to the back of the house they see nothing Deputy Marshall almost tripped over a latch in the floor they dusted it off and it was a basement so they opened the wooden latch and climbed down.
Then they saw old blood stains on the bottom of the ceiling towards the right side of the wall. "Where did that blood come from?" Marshall asked. "It must have soaked into the floor and shown through." Tibbs replied. "Wait did the caller, the woman did she leave a name?" Tibbs asked frantically. "No why?" Marshall asked. "The door!" Tibbs said as his eyebrows jumped. "What about the door?"
"Dammit sir you scaring the hell out of me what is going on?" Marshall exclaimed."No it can't be?" Tibbs said to himself. "What are you talking about?" Marshall asked. "This is the Sinston's house." He replied. As soon as Sheriff Tibbs said that they heard creaking on above their heads from the wooden floor. They could the footsteps above their head, "what the hell is that?" Marshall asked. Quickly Sheriff Tibbs walked over put his hand over Marshall's mouth signaling him to be quiet.
