The Best People Are

Mr. Rabbit

Mr. Rabbit

Dec 18, 2017

Out my door, out my house

Feet tip tapping on the wet cold ground

Through the bushes, towards the forest

Calling to Mr. Rabbit to slow his pace

He never stops or turns around

“I’m late! I’m late!” is all he keeps saying

I continue to follow, my pace quickening with his

My breathing growing faster and heavier with every step I take

A sudden darkness pounds me

The feel of nothing surrounds me

Sleep is cast over me like a shadow

I awake

A sharp pain pounds inside my side

A strange place I have awaken in

Giant mushrooms, a twisting path

Bugs almost the same size as me

I am lost I figured

And this would not have happened

If it was not for Mr. Rabbit

I walk along the twisted path

A giant blue caterpillar I encounter

He asks me to be his wife

I kindly refuse and tell him no thank you

But my “no” apparently did not suit him

A yank on my hair, now the sky is my path

And a mushroom is my new home

I am ordered to fix him a snack

Cookies and milk is my specialty

One little bite, a fall to the floor

And I am free to go on my way

I am lost I know

And none of this would have happened

If it was not for Mr. Rabbit

A Cheshire cat I meet, all lovely and sweet as can be

And he would still be that way

If I did not feed him to the Bandersnatch

For trying to make me his next meal

A trap is set under the Tumtum tree

A delicious feast I had

The Jubjub bird is sure to last me for quite awhile

Though I feel guilty about it now

I am lost, I am sure of it now

None of this would have occurred

If it was not for Mr. Rabbit

I am kidnapped once more

And taken to a castle

A grand ball is being held

A young handsome man I meet

We dance all night

And the next day I am wed to The King of Hearts

A beautiful white wedding cake is set in front of us

And something dashes from behind

Orders are sent out

And oh! I have just remembered I am late for tea

So I give my husband a kiss

And wish him a good day

We are about ready to began

But the Mad Hatter wonders where Mr. Rabbit is

“Oh, he will be late again today…” I say

“In fact he may not come at all today or tomorrow.

And the day after that and the day after that

And so on and so forth.”

We are mainly looking for adventurous novels (Fantasy, Sci-fi, Paranormal Urban, Action, Thriller/Suspense, Game Fiction). A brief introduction along with a few samples or links will be appreciated when reaching out. It is a good opportunity!

Tears streamed down his face and created a puddle on the floor below us. His tears soon became wider, spreading all over his cheeks until he was crying two rapid waterfalls. Each time his tears fell, the water on the floor raised and inch higher. I suddenly stood up and looked down. I was now knee deep in these tears and they were up to his chest. I bent down towards him and removed his hands from his face. I held both them in my palms.

"It's okay...stop crying. Just because you did something terrible, doesn't make you a terrible person."
