My owner was a happy young man, who was married. He had other pets besides me. He had birds, gold fish, a dog and small monkey. They named me Pluto , I was his favorite pet. I adored him. I use to follow him wherever he went. He alone fed me ,but he wouldn’t let go with him outside, I don’t know why. Our friendship lasted, this way for several years. During this time, he began to come home drunk. He would hit her sometimes. I could hear him screaming at his wife, verbally abusing her. He was cruel when the others pets came in his way by accident or when they went seeking him for attention and affection. But he was still kind and sweet to me. He never once hurt'd me. I was still his favorite.

He came home one day, and grabbed me by my neck. He had never grabbed me like that before. I bite him in fear hoping he would let go. He dropped me but before I could get away he grabbed me. I could see an evil wickedness in his eyes. Then he took out a pen-knife, and opened it. He cut one of my eyes out of it’s soaked, while he grasped me by my throat cried for him to stop,but he couldn’t understand me or he didn’t care of my pain. He looked looked liked he enjoyed seeing me in pain. Ok it was that he didn’t care.
