Letter, Rosales Kordesiii to reader

Greetings reader,

There are important points that the reader should understand before continuing.

1-Flora are not human. We are genetic mutations of humans and plants that evolved over millions of years. Your cowardice to avoid peace led to your own demise and the beginning of our more intelligent race. I apologize if I have offended you. It is not the individual who wished for the end, but the corrupted leader who refused to listen to the voices of those they were meant to protect.

2-As floral-humanoids, we live through the energy provided by the sun. Therefore, we can live for incredible periods of time. Flora tend to end their lives at the 500 year mark, unless they are considerably important. We still eat and grow crops, but if we so choose, we could live without them. Through some unknown process of nature, we were each given special gifts. Most are minor in power, but others are luckier as you will read later on.

3-Our world is completely divided into two halves. Each continent is split between the Sun State and the Moon State, but you do not need to know the inner workings of each state. The 7230 Black Dahlia case takes place in the Eurasian Sect of the Moon State, or your old Germany. Miss Dichtoto, my dear friend and protagonist, is the Grand Mayor of Radix, the capital of the EASMS. I am the Grand Mayor of Flos, the capital of the EASSS. An advantage of our open borders is the ability to befriend and alley with those from different states and sects.

4-Religion is essentially nonexistent in our society, however we are not godless. We accept the existence of the Creator and Destroyer, but most of us do not worship them. The Creator has given us life, but will help us no further. Our resources do not need to be wasted waiting for a reply we will never receive. We are advanced enough to solve our own problems. If they are personal to our singular spirits, Flora connect to their romantic relationship with nature.

5-Flora are technically both genders and have both reproductive parts. In acts of desperation, Flora can self-pollinate to further their linage. About 75% of our population identify as female, 20% male, and 5% as neither or both. Thus, no definition for any "sexuality" is needed or discriminated against.

Due to my greater ability to access the minds of the population through my ink, Mayor Dichtoto asked me to publish this story.

She collected all notes and evidence related to the Black Dahlia and sent it to me to compile. The events are incredibly odd and supernatural even compared to our being.

P.S. I've attached a passage from The Chronicle of Suunian History and Culture to help you understand our calendar. You can skip it if the dates do not bother you because this does not advance the story in anyway.
