Aiden wasn’t sure how this all came to be but at the moment he was in utter terror. The alarm had sounded signaling an attack from another pack. What were they here for? Honestly, he had no idea. If the others knew they weren’t saying. But that didn’t surprise him since no one shared much of anything with him. He had been roughly grabbed and shoved into the Omega packhouse along with all the children and those who couldn’t defend themselves.
Only a few hours had passed since packs Alpha had left for an emergency meeting with one of their closest allies. He had taken more than half the worriers with him, leaving the pack practically defenseless.
The decision had been met with many objections but the recent Rouge attacks had swayed most. No one wanted their newly appointed Alpha to die at their hands of Rogues and leave the pack in disarray and open to attacks.
Ironic isn’t it?
There was sniffling and crying through the room as children pressed closely against their parents, while the parents patted their backs and cooing at encouraging words to keep them quiet.
A sickening feeling washed over him as the sent of fear and too closely packed bodies permitted the main Dining hall. Desperate for much-needed air he pushed his way to the front. Which was met with grunts and silent hisses thrown at his direction. Two thick double doors beckoned him promising some much-needed air. The hallway was mostly empty leading to the wooden doors. The ones who remained were only there because The lack of space further in.
The sight was a welcome one to Aiden since he had a great dislike of tight spaces.
Aiden laid his head against the rough wood enjoying the small amount of fresh air that squeeze its way through the small slits that joined the two halves. He could here muffled grunts and howls as his sharp wolf’s senses heightened.
There was an exchange of words on the other side, Aiden strained his ears as he pressed harder against the door. He could almost make it out what was being said. A loud cry pulled his focus from the door and direct it behind him. There were several loud angry hisses and glares directed at the culprit. Who was a young alpha heavy with child. She proceeds to flair back at any who would meet her eye.
Aiden had removed his ear from the door at the sound and frowned searching the crowd. He caught several eyes glaring daggers back at him. Including the woman who had cried out just moments ago.
Great now he was the bad guy.
With a shake of his head he pressed his ear to the door once again. Heightening his sharp hearing as far as he could. He made out only a few words that made his blood run cold, his face lost all color and his hands began to shake against the wooden door.
