"What do you mean I'm getting transferred to another division?" I asked my floor supervisor Debbie Burante. She looked at me from across her desk with a sad smile, "I get it, I really do. You've been with the our department for almost three years now. We're going to miss having you here every night, but a transfer is a transfer, it was approved by the director himself so there's no changing it."
"Well can I at least know where I'm being transferred to?"
"Now don't freak out when I tell you this, but we may have recommended you for the open dispatcher position with the CDSP.. And well, they accepted." Debbie held out a Manila envelope, "Here's the transfer paperwork and job description. You start in eight days."
"Oh my god Debbie, are you serious? Do you have any idea what you guys just did? Holy crap." I said while I leaned against her desk for support.
"Don't worry Tamaria, you'll do just fine. We wouldn't have put in the recommendation if we didn't think you were ready.” She dropped the folder in front of me on the desk.
"Turn in your old uniforms to Admin by the end of the week, and they'll exchange them for your new ones.”
