This is where everything went downhill.
The Cardboard Box started off as a community comic for the "Name the Pokémon" topic from online trivia game QuizUp. Characters in the story were based on actual users from the community and most events were loosely based on in-jokes and events.
The story starts in the office of Otto, the person who ran a daily news service for the community while accompanied by his assistant whose username was Lunala.
