“UMMMM...”
(Aaaaaaah…oh my head…)
All I can see is darkness, I feel a banging inside of my head, followed by a slight headache, I rubbed my forehead trying to massage the pain away, I struggle to see as my eyes slowly begin to open, my vision was indeed bury at first, My head is against the hard asphalt as the smell of Petroleum fills my nostril.
I sat sat up on the rough asphalt.
(I’m…Outside??)
(??)
I took a moment to familiarize myself with the surroundings.
The endless river of tarmac, as wide as the eyes can see the smoggy lit lamp posts in the dead of the night, the tall unidentified buildings, the empty streets.
This place seems alien to me.
(Where the heck am I?)
(??..)
(Hmmh. My head...) I mourn, as I stood in pain.
My eyes continued their search, until they felt upon a figure. The figure lies beside a fallen, dimmed lamp post, which was across the road, motionless, it was not clear who or what it was. As I begin to draw, it became clearer.
(Shit!!)
“Jane!!” There laid Jane, just a few feet away, lifelessly lying on the ground.
In the mist of it all, something hit me, my memories began to surface.
(The woman…The book)
Without hesitation I immediately made haste, manoeuvring my way over towards Jane’s body.
(C—could she be. Dead..?)

***Beep!*** ***Beep!*** ***Beep!*** ***Beep!***
The sound of the alarm clock echoed across the room, as I stretch forth my hand searching for the off button. The clock is located on a small circular table beside my bed.
Just them a dash of sunlight enters through my half cracked window, slightly illuminating the room, I could hear the distant sound of birds cheering. I considered them as my second alarm, Lazily I lay on my back, rubbing my eyes adjusting them lighting, Then like electricity realisation struck me.
“Oh no the interview!!”
I immediately pull the purple Silk cover, of my leg, hopped out of bed and head straight towards the shower.
I was in quite a hurry, because I had a job interview today, with La Delights, Which is a world renowned Pasty Restaurant here in Rocks Vole, ever since I heard the New that they will be hiring, I had been eager ever since.
I am originally from a small District located out of Town, but moved here to the Capital, where I am living with my cousin Jane, But enough about the past , let us continue with the present!
“Ok...Now for the hardest part, what should I wear?”
After sometime in the shower, I stood a gazed over a pile of clothes which were jumbled across my bed, I was indecisively perplexed about what to wear.
(I really want to make a good impression...)
“I would highly recommend that red dress”
Said a voice from behind in a soft yet spoken tone, I turned around and saw...
“Oh hey Jane, Goodmorning..”
Jane stood by the door way leaning against the wall, still in her Velvet night wear.
I was so busy focusing on the pile laid before me, that I didn’t even noticed her presence.
“Well, Good morning to you too Clora..”
Jane respond as she crosses the room towards me.
“How long have you been standing there?”
I ask, as I turn facing her.
“Oh, I have been standing here for about three minutes”
She said as she pulled the red dress from the pile and hands it to me. It was a classical medium red dress, with long sleeve and a collar, it was perfect for the occasion.
“You know, you should be happy to have such a beautiful fashion designer for a cousin..”
She said in a playful tone, batting her eye lash.
“Lucky me”
I answered in a sarcastic tone.
“Oh and I almost forgot to tell you that Alex called, last night, he finally had the nerve to ask me out”
I saw a hint of blush as she mentions Alex’s name.
“Well it’s about time. You two have been flirting with each other for like what… Six months now?”
I said, as I smile.
“At least I have been flirting with an actual human being, but you on the other hand haven’t even looked at a guy since the breakup with Cameron...”
And with that said, Jane went downstairs.
(…It's so typical of her to mention my Ex…)
***Sigh***
I hated that name, that cheating bastard, I caught him and his Sectary playing dirty at his house. Although it was over a year ago, I never truly recovered.
(Why am I thinking about that scum.. I have an interview to prepare for!)
After getting dressed. I stood before the mirror, admiring how the dress really complimented my curves. Fixing my hair was a breeze.
“Alright, time to apply the Make-up!”
It was time to apply make-up; I decided to go light, seeing that it was a n Interview not a beauty contest.
For my base I used a light amount of liquid foundation, tow shade darker that my complexion, few brushes of loose powder which was just a shade lighter and to finish it off I used a Stain red lipstick, which agreed splendidly with my dress.
