Welcome to my story, a bit about me, I am from Denmark, I am a bit of an artist. Any art in this story is either made by me or the artist I give credit to. 

Fair warning I am dyslexic and not English. I put a lot of work into trying, and I have no grammar mistakes. But it is impossible to be 100% perfect. I use the Grammarly free version. And text-to-speech.

Names of different currencies.  

Crowns: gold coins

Knuckles: silver coins

Kingdoms

Mar-traigh: Scottish Gaelic, means sea-beach. This is the Kingdom in which our story takes place. 

Vuori: It means Mountain in Finnish. This is the neighbouring Kingdom to Martraigh, and has been mentioned multiple times throughout the story. 

Ledas-gele: Lithuanian means flower-ice. A neighbouring kingdom, that has been cursed to have a dark forest consume it. So far this dark forest has only been mentioned and don't play a bigger role at the moment (it will for future purpose. but that is far into the story.)

Other places

Mavahofn: Name of the city where the story takes place.

Dhachaidh : The royal castle.

Pupillus: This is the name of the place where they educate orphans to become royal guards. 

Pupillus is a Latin term used in Roman law to refer to a child who has not yet reached puberty and is under the authority of a sui juris tutor. This tutor is responsible for the child's well-being and making decisions on their behalf.

Men's blissful menders: A brothel. 

The Ater River: This river flows through the Martraigh kingdom. It even goes through the castle garden out into the sea.

The way in: it's an inn in the city. 

Daingneach: A fortress by the border between Vouri and Martraigh. 

Maria: a harbour in Vuori, named after the Virgin Mary (She is called Maria in some countries)

Heilagur: A monastery where it is traditional that the royal kids of Martraigh study. They are considered adults when returning. Malika and Valor have done their studying there, but Valor was only a short time.

The royal family of Martraigh

They are all described as having dark skin and dark afro hair. Meaning they are of African descent, aka Black. Though not like 100% black, as this is suppouse to be an european country. Although I have a story in mind about how this royal family became black, it has nothing to do with the plot, so I don't know if I will throw it in at some point. 

King Alfonso: The King of Martraigh. In his mid-forties. 

Alfonso is a masculine name of Spanish origin that means "noble" and "ready for battle." Was also the name of the first King of Portugal.

He is a strict father and King, he comes off as harsh, he is not evil. But he is no saint

Queen Nemy: Wife of Alfonso. Deceased. 

The name Nemy is a girl's name of African origin meaning "sweet".

Princess Malika: Firstborn child of Alfonso and Nemy. She is 20  Bethroed to Duke Teival.  

Malika is a name that have many meanings depending on where you take it from. In Urdu it means angel and in Arabic it means Queen. 

She is more mature, and she has a calm nature. But not afraid to take risks, she taught Zora and Valor how to sneak out of the castle. 

Crown Prince Valor: He is the cursed Prince from the description. The curse he has makes him hear a whisper that tells him to do evil things, only music can stop it.

So the case is I spelt Valour wrong, but the good news is Valor is just the American version, so it's technically speaking not wrong.

We have a Danish word that describes him perfectly, dum-dristig, google says it means reckless. But it doesn't describe him well enough, if directly translated, it means stupid-bold. And that is what he is, stupid and bold. 

His age is late teens, around 17

Princess Zora:  She is the second youngest. She is more spoiled and selfish than her siblings, She have a lot of growing up to do. Her age is 15.

Zora means dawn in many languages. 

Princess Keisha: Youngest child of Alfonso and Nemy. Age around 8. She is the overlooked sibling. 

Keisha is a female given name which has multiple meanings across languages like "Favourite", "Restored to the heart of God" or "Cassia Tree" 

Marquess Eiran: Younger Brother of King Alfonso. Resides at Daingneach.

The purpose of a marquess is to protect their respective kingdoms' frontier lands. 

The royal family of Vouri and Ledasgele. 

Duke Teival:  Son of Lady Hagne and Prince Troylus of Ledasgele (Died within the cursed forest.) As the entirety of the royal family of Ledasgele was killed by the cursed forest, Teival is the closest heir to the crown. He has pale skin, blue eyes, and black curly hair. Age mid 20's.

Lady Eugeneia: Sister of Duke Teival, she has a husband whom I did not care to name. 

This might have been spelt wrong in the story because my grammar program keeps changing it. And I don't always notice when it does. (Life of a dyslexic.)

Lady Hagne: Mother of Teival and Eugeneia, she is from Hellas (Thats Greece.)

Queen Zellendine: She is dead. Younger sister of Prince Troylus. And Teiva's Aunt. She was married to the King of Vouri, they have a son. Who would be the heir to the Ledasgele crown if it were not for Duke Teival? 

She is the same Queen who was assassinated by the rebels Ciara was part of. 

Other main cast

Lorelei: This is a female main character. And the street singer mentioned in the story description. She is not aware of her true age. But somewhere in her late teens.

She is named after a myth, this myth does not play into the story, but I do recommend looking it up yourself because it is quite interesting.

She is loyal and assertive. 

Narin: Friend of Lorelei, he is described as being eastern, with light brown skin, black hair, and on the shorter side.

Neary: Narin's twin sister. She is mute. 

Dolion: A mystery man, turns out to be an elf with blue bent horns, white hair and burned skin. 

Dolion is a greek name that means "to lure, to deceive, to use deceit".

Alva: Is a foundling who lives at the castle. She is an elf described as having bent red Horns. Light brown skin and curly dark brown hair.

Alva is Scandinavian in origin and means elf. 

Guards

Basin: Just receive the title of Captain of the royal guard. He is an older man. He is faithful to the crown. 

Basin has also been the ward to multiple Orphan guards. Lorelei, Locklan, Neary, Narin and Harbin.

As any other guard, he is an orphan. I did add some backstory you will learn,  It was a big debate for me to add it, as I am not sure I will do anything with it. 

When he was young he had golden hair, but as he have grown old, he has lost a lot of hair and what is left is grey. He has lost one eye, and wears an eyepatch over it. 

Locklan: He is a royal guard. All though taking into the guards a year after Lorelei, they are properly the same age. Basin nicknamed him Luck. 

He has ight brown skin, dark brown eyes, freckles and curly ginger hair. 

Locklan is a different spelling of Lachlan it's Irish and means the land of the lakes.

Clovis:  A city guard. dark skin and dark afro hair. 

Harbin: Another child of Basin's I dont think I have described what he looks like. But I am pretty sure he is white with brown hair. 

Alonnie: . Light brown skin, light brown hair

Other side characters

Ciara Boneflare: She is an Elf. She is described as having Straight red Horns. Light brown skin and curly dark brown hair. She was part of the rebellion that killed Queen Zellendine.

She was arrested to be executed because of this, and in anger cursed Prince Valor. 

Madam Eithne: She has the title Steward of the Royal Court, feels like an aunt to the Prince and Princesses.
