And that was the last thing ive heard before i jolted awake in my bed. I felt terrified as i looked around my dark room. I could only see so much with the moonlight peeking through my door. My hands were shaky and my breath was hitched. That was my mother i heard before she was executed. It happened when i was young. My father never told me what happened.

"Twas a nightmare. Twas not but a nightmare. I shall be fine if i try to rest.." I tried to convince myself to go back to sleep but i didn't get the urge to. I tossed and turned in my sheets til morn, when a maid rushed to my side 

"Your Highness, it's time to awake."

"Im awake Meredith, I've been awake for hours" 

"And you didn't think to get up and get freshened up for the day? Pheobe you have a meeting with the Prince of Welling!"

"Yes yes im all too aware of that. Am i late for breakfast? Please tell father i will be. i have to stop by the library and meet Chase." 

I sighed at the thought of being married away. Not as an enjoyable sigh, more like a depressed yet anxious sigh? my mind was befuddled with the thought of having to leave my kingdom. I was only 16 years and my father basically was giving me away for the sake of the kingdom. My whole life was here. The only friends ive ever had are here. And Chase was here. He'd been my friend since i was young, him only being a year or 2 older than me.

"My Princess, you must get ready for breakfast with the Prince."

I turned to look at her, my face pale as a ghost "Pardon me, but.. the prince is here? As of right now?"

Meredith nodded at me. I felt my stomach rumble and turn. I felt ill. Very ill.

"Very well then.. Tell my father i wont go to breakfast indefinitely." 

I heard her sigh before I stepped into my powder room. I began to take my night gown off and wait for Meredith to start my bath. I got in and a knock was heard at my bedroom door. Meredith left to go see who it was. I sat there, bubbles floating above my chest as i heard faint whispers from the other room.

She came back and sat next to me 

"Who was it?" I asked

"It was the prince."
