I sat in the center of my room, thinking about my whole life. Wondering how I ended up here. Where did it go wrong? What was the mistake? How did I let this happen? I realize that if my mom had never trusted him, If I had been more of a leader but, you can never change the past without anything going wrong. It's because of my dumb Mother I am here. All I can do is live the life I have and be grateful. I stand up and grab a dress and pull it over my head and onto my body. I look in the mirror, I look decent enough. I walk towards the door and sat up against it. I grab a comb and comb through my hair. I stand again and open the door. I face Charlie, one of the guards and, walk past him. I stood at the banister of the stairs. There he was waiting for me to come down. I walk slowly down the steps. I finally met the bottom and he put his hand out waiting for me to grab. I grab his hand as he greets me with “Long time no see.” and smiles. “Thank god,” I reply so disgusted. He leads me outside to a small limbo. He tries to be a gentleman like by opening the door for me. I step inside the limbo and sit down. He sat down right beside me. “You look nice, looks like you put effort this time,” he comments. “Actually I randomly chose something out of my closet,” I assure. The car is taken off the brakes and we move onto the road. I think to myself about where he could be taking me. Maybe it's the same field for another picnic or, to a meeting to ‘show me off’ to his co-workers and his boss to get a promotion. I can never read him. “Read, where are we going?” I ask. I had to ask I couldn’t stand not knowing where I am going. “Oh, well I know you don’t like surprises but you have to wait till we get there,” he says and smiles at me. I sigh and start to look at the window. I watch all the cars we pass and the cars that speed pass us. I feel something touch my hand. I look down and Read reaches for my hand and holds it in his. I snatch my hand away as quickly as I can. “Still playing hard to get, I see?” he laughs. “I want no strings attached to you this is all just temporary,” I say. I moved farther away from him as I can. I pull my dress down, just in case he tries anymore of his tricks. After the long ride, we arrive at what seems to be our destination. It was a huge mansion. I open my mouth in amazement. “I see for once I’ve Impressed you,” he says and then smiles. He gets out the car and walks around and opens my door offering his hand. I take his hand and get out the limbo and he shuts the limbo door behind me. He then leads me into the mansion. I realize that it was just me and him alone. I try to run out the door but he grabs my arm. “Let me go!” I scream. “You’re not leaving until I get what I want!” He yells. He forcefully takes me up to an attic and throws me onto the floor. I make a run for the door but he grabs my arms and throws me down onto a crooked nail and it impaled my stomach. I curse. He ties my arms but not without a long fight with me. “Enough!” He screams. I finally give in and face my fate. He also chains me close to the wall. “What the Hell do you want and what does it have to do with me?!” I yell. He then gags my mouth. “It was better when you were quiet and I did all the talking. Now you’re just going to help me take down The Cryptids gang. They’ve been walking over me since my gang fell to its feet. Since your their most prized possession.” he explains. I stare at him with all the anger in my body. “So I'm going to turn you into something powerful and then you’re going to help me take down everything they have even if that means killing those who get in our way,” he says and laughs. ‘How did you end up this way, at first it was a normal date and now you’re going to walk out of here a changed woman’ I think. He leaves the room. I try to head for the door but the chains hold me back. I had a small wound from a nail but something tells me it’s just the beginning.
