It was a chilly winter's day, all was quiet in the diner. A man walks in and asks to be seated. No waiters appear to seat the man until an old man raises his hand and calls for the man to sit with him. The old man starts off,"Young man, who are you? Where are you from? These aint parts that welcome strangers." The man simply replies,"Name's Clyde, aint safe to talk to vermin like me." The old man suggests that they order food together and calls for a waiter. Clyde asks the old man to order for him so he did. The old man ordered two tenderloins along with two glasses of Champaign with a side order of eggs and bacon. "Much obliged old man, thanks for the grub."said Clyde while tipping his cap. The old man simply smiled and started to eat. As the old man was eating happily, Clyde simply thought that it was fulfilling to see an old man happy. A long silence had passed and the old man was starting to wonder what happened to Clyde. He turned around to check on Clyde, who had disappeared a plate still full of food. The old man asked what happened to the man that sat with him. The waiter gave a curious look and simply replied," sir, there was no one sitting with you."
