Liu Feng was not an unsuccessful man. He was the opposite. He had many things every on else did not. He was the CEO of one of the biggest fortune 500 companies, one of the youngest also. He was rated with a 150 IQ, and was the most followed man in the world. Men wanted to be him, women wanted to be with him. Yet, he was unhappy. He didn’t have anything he could call his. He didn’t own the company, he was hired as the CEO. He didn’t have the empire everyone thought he did. He lost his family a long time ago, and had nothing to call his own, and now his past was also biting him.
“It’s time for you to step down. The chairman doesn’t like your latest stunt with the charity. You should step down of your own accord or things won’t be so pretty anymore.”
Liu Feng gnashed his teeth.
“ I did what I was asked. This won’t lose him money, why is he acting like this?”
“Doesn’t matter. Just think of it like this. You are growing too popular and people will start noticing that you have us behind you. That won’t be good for the chairman. Be glad that you still have your life left. Do what you want, but remember, you can’t do anything flashy.”
The man, and his body guards left his office. Meanwhile, Liu Feng looked out his office window. It was a nice view, showing the downtown of New York. Pity that he was going to lose it. He went to his desk and opened his laptop. He started typing out his resigning letter, and sent it to the board of directors. He picked up his wallet and left the office.
Two minutes later, his assistant rushed up to him and told him,
“Sir, you forgot your phone. You might miss important calls.”
Liu Feng looked at her,
“It’s a pity talent like you is anguishing to make money for that bastard. I won’t need the phone today, I am pretty sure that I could use the peace and quiet too. Don’t answer any phone that comes though.”
He left the building and went down the road to the nearest pub, and gestured the bartender to give him a keg of beer, with his lips on his mouth to stop the bartender from telling everyone about the esteemed guest. He started chugging down the beer.
“Are you okay sir? You usually don’t come down here unless something is troubling you...”
“Leave it Steve. Nothing anyone can do will change what has happened. I made a few mistakes and now I am paying the price for it.”
He threw the wallet at the bartender who cam to talk to him, and left the pub to go to the city outskirts. He gout out of his car and sat on a bench nearby, looking at the city from his feet.
“You can go ahead now, no one is watching.”
Two men came out of the dark and laughed.
“You are just like the chairman said, very smart and obedient, Don’t worry. Her death was clean and swift just like yours will be.”
Liu Feng closed his eyes, seeing only darkness and then involuntarily cried out.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh”
“Congratulations sir. It’s a boy. The kingdom finally has the prince it needs.”
