A PRESENT FOR HIS PRESENT…
A cold winter night, wind flowing, leaves moving, no one outside their homes, except one boy, a teen boy, HASH. He was waiting for someone, the someone who was everyone to him, the someone who he considered as ‘The Only Present’ the god ever gave to him. He wasn’t much poor, infact he was one of the richest persons in the country, but he still liked a simple lifestyle and by looking at him, no one could tell that he was ‘The Hash Granger’. In a cold night when no one wanted to go outside their houses, he was in half sleeves t shirt and a trouser and a copy of Harry Potter’s 4th book, then, his wait got over, the person he was waiting for came, his only present who wanted to be his future too, his love, PRI HOULSE, as soon as she noticed Hash sitting outside her door, she went inside her house ignoring him, seeing this, Hash ran to stop Pri but it was late, she went in her house and locked the door instantly before Hash could say anything.
( HASH STANDING )
Hash started calling Pri’s name again and again, “PRI, PRI, PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SINCE LAST 37 MINUTES, PLEASE, TALK TO ME ONCE”. But there wasn’t a single reply, Hash once again considered it that it wasn’t a good day today, maybe God will help him tomorrow because as soon as Hash met Pri, he started believing in The God faithfully.
Hash is an orphan, his parents were going on a Business Meet in India when he was 4yrs old and his parents’ plane crashed while coming back, since then, Hash lives in a big mansion alone with just his Best Friend or his Butler as Raghu’s job makes him, Raghu Winston, Hash’s parents’ most trusted and Hash’s butler.
Raghu has been taking care of Hash since his parents’ accident, he takes care of all the servants and the maids, manages all the bank accounts and transactions, he even teaches Hash to take care of his family business and how to earn maximum profit from it, Hash goes to a special school where only selected children get their admission, a student can either get admission by Scholarships or by paying heavy fees, Hash met Pri in the school itself.
Pri Houlse, a young brilliant student who got admission in ‘The Great Wargots School’ by getting a Scholarship of 95%. She comes nowhere near to Hash in the terms of Bank Balance as her father is a musician and a music shop owner and her mother is a small ill-payed teacher. Her sister is a nuisance to her parents and to Pri too, her sister Avika spends way too much money on nonsense things and disturbs Pri by teasing her, she also buys new stuff herself and if she likes a thing out of the very few things Pri buyed, she keeps them too. Avika is one of the most popular girl in the colony, she doesn’t want to go to school that is why she helps her father in his business and is surprisingly good at it, she manage all the income and money, all the delivery status and hence, takes profit of her help.
Hash and Pri weren’t always like this, when Hash met Pri in the school, on 25th October, they became good friends after that, went out together several times especially on 3rd of November, when they both went on a coffee kind of date together, Hash started loving Pri, but Pri doesn’t think the same, Pri was given signs by her bestfriend that Hash might have started loving her, Pri talked to Hash about it and Hash lied, Pri is suspicious about Hash and that is why she ignores Hash now, she have Insecurities against Hash now.
Hash was still waiting for Pri outside her door, he shouted her name but there was no response. Hash sighed and leaned against the door, feeling defeated. He was in love with Pri, but she didn't feel the same way. He had tried to tell her how he felt, but she doesn’t just want to talk to Hash. Hash knew that Pri had insecurities. He tried his best to clear to Pri and to talk to her. He loved Pri for who she was. He just wished that she could see that and stop getting annoyed by Hash.
As Hash stood outside Pri's door, lost in his thoughts, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. He looked up and saw Raghu, his butler and best friend, coming towards him."Hash, what are you doing out here?" Raghu asked, concern in his voice. "It's freezing."
"I'm waiting for Pri," Hash replied, his voice tinged with sadness. "But she won't talk to me."
Raghu sighed and put a hand on Hash's shoulder. "I'm sorry, Hash. I know how much you care about her. But maybe it's time to let her go. If she can't see how much you love her, then she doesn't deserve you."
Hash nodded, tears welling up in his eyes. He knew that Raghu was right, but it didn't make the pain any easier to bear, he looked at Pri’s house one last time and went away with Raghu, he decided that he would come here everyday until Pri finally listens to him.
Pri whereas was looking Hash from her window, she saw his tears, him shivering but still waiting, Pri realised her mistake but was still full of thoughts and had a genuine right to not to talk to Hash whom she is suspicious of. She also found it unusual that why was Hash carrying a Harry Potter Novel, then she saw that he forgot the novel on the bench he was sitting on, she firstly ignored it thinking it must be a trick of Hash to make Pri come out of her house but when Hash didn’t come, she ran outside and took the Harry Potter book. As Pri picked up the Harry Potter book, she noticed a note tucked inside. Curiosity piqued, she unfolded it and read the words written in Hash's neat handwriting:
"Dear Pri,
I know you're upset with me, and I understand why. I've been trying to tell you how I feel, but I've been too afraid to be honest with you. I'm sorry for lying to you, and I'm sorry for not being brave enough to tell you the truth.
I love you, Pri. I've loved you since the day we met, and I'll love you until the end of time. I know that you have insecurities about our relationship, but I want you to know that I don't care about any of that. I love you for who you are, not for your family's money or lack thereof. I just wish that you could see that and give me a chance to prove it to you.
I'll be waiting for you outside your door every day until you're ready to talk to me. I hope that one day, you'll see how much I love you and how much you mean to me.
Love always,
Hash"
Pri felt a lump form in her throat as she read Hash's heartfelt words. She had been so caught up in her own insecurities that she hadn't stopped to consider how Hash might be feeling. She knew that she had been unfair to him, and she felt a pang of guilt.
She looked out the window and saw Hash walking away with Raghu, his head bowed in defeat. She knew that she had to make things right with him, but she didn't know how.
As she stood there, lost in thoughts, she really wanted to talk to Hash but she didn't have much confidence, shoe just couldn't get over the fact that Hash loves Pri, she then walked out of her home in search of Hash.
As she walked outside, she saw Hash sitting on the bench, his head bowed in defeat. She took a deep breath and walked over to him, her heart pounding in her chest.
But, she was not ready, she wasn’t much confident to talk to Hash, she ran to her house and locked the door.
“Hash, let’s go now, it’s too late.” Said Raghu confronting Hash.
