The whites of his eyes were hued in red. The green jade coloration to his eyes were glaring at the city streets around him. Every where he looked he could see people glancing at him in his black cloak but the moment his jaded eyes connected with theirs they would shift their gaze in freight. For a world that was vastly different from the earth that he knew there were still many things in common, but when it came to keeping yourself alive it did not matter what world you were from to require the skill to know it. Ever since he had come to this world he had been grinding his way up the latter in power. He did not have underlings and he did not work for any sect, group, gang, ect.
It had only been a few weeks since he arrived in this world, but things were already spreading about the man in black cloak. He had heard many people whispering about him in pubs and hotels. It was obvious that news of events quickly spread among this world when it came to things making a stir. The name that people had come to refer to him by was The Jade Devil. Since his arrival he had already slaughtered numerous people but nobody could easily determine the reasons as to why or how. This was something that did not bother him because his life was fairly peaceful when it came to the number of people willing to act against him thus far.
"Hey, ain't that-"
"Shh! Don't get us involved! Do you want to die?"
The people continued to talk and whisper about him as they scurried along the streets as far away from him as possible. His long black hair hung down his back while blowing in the soft breeze as he walked. Most warriors in this world tended to tie their hair up but he found that to be a bothersome task so he was considered a rare fighter when it came to his style. He did not use swords or weapons of any kind which tended to leave people puzzled yet terrified. It was as though he destroyed all logic of the world he had been reborn into. The body he had taken over he had never found out who it belonged to and he did not actually care.
TING TING
The door he entered sounded it's bells as he entered a nearby bar.
"Welcome- Ah!" The bartender got flustered at the mere sight of him. "Oh, Jade, it's you!"
As his eyes swept across the bar slowly he could see many people shifting their seats to distance themselves from him. A few people ran out of the bar as quickly as they could to avoid meeting him all together. If one watched the scene in person they could easily assume someone carrying the plague had entered the room. His steps came to a halt at the bar counter where he sat down on an empty seat.
"Your bar is as friendly as ever." A slight smirk appeared on his face as he closed his eyes. His hand grasping a cold glass of beer in front of him that the bartender naturally put down. Over the few weeks he had become a regular at this place so the bartender had casually adapted to his presence but it was obvious that the man still felt a slight tinge of fear towards him.
"Of course.. You're one of our honored guests." The bartender forced a kind smile on his face.
"That was a joke." His eyes slowly opened into a glare towards the bartender causing him to shiver slightly. The green jade eyes looked like they would easily pierce the man's life without a second thought about it. With the red hue in his whites it was almost like having a stare down with a demon for the bartender.
"Ah.." The bartender swallowed as he mustered up a bit of courage to voice out his next words. He had met the man enough times to know he could talk to him though he knew him well enough to know he had to tread carefully regardless. "When it comes to you, Jade, you know yourself as well as others that its hard to tell when you are joking."
"I see.." There was a faraway gaze to his eyes as he appeared to be in thought while the bartender spoke. His only motion was to occasionally drink from his glass.
"As often as you come here you've still never said what your actual name is.. Do you have one?" The bartender made an attempt to soothe his own curiosity.
Slowly his head turned to gaze at the bartender. He had never taken a serious look at the man before til now, but when he did he realized the man was young for a bartender. Was he still in his twenties? He wondered over the idea that the bartender must have studied young for this job. The bartender looked as though he was panicking over asking a simple question about his name which caused him to feel slight amusement. In a nervous motion the bartender ruffled his own short brown hair as his blue eyes turned to look away as if it made him feel safer.
"Hah? Does a mere ghost need a name?" He smirked under his breath. His name from the body he was in was unknown to him to begin with and he had no interest in learning it. When it came to his name from his last life on earth he had no interest in giving it away that easily to anyone because he did not want to recall those days more than he had to. It was his chance to live a new life and he was going to live it doing whatever he felt like doing.
"Ghost? What do you-?" The bartender started to ask what he meant by those words with a bit more life to his tone after realizing the man had not taken ill to his question. When he turned to look at the man while he was talking he realized the man was already gone. The bar stool that he had been sitting on was now empty and the money that he owed was already laid on the counter by the glass. He wanted to grumble out loud but he was worried if he did the man could still be close enough by to catch what he was doing so he remained quiet and simply sighed softly to himself.
