Sally gave me this journal to help me adjust to my new life so here we go-

hi I'm Mars and today is my first full day in the land of writers and stories. I am from Newcastle, Australia and I now live with Sally Jefferson and the other kids she's adopted. It's currently the school holidays here but when school starts again i will go with the other kids.

Speaking of the other kids and the others in general I should probably introduce them. I would like, draw them in here, but I can't draw to save my life so I'll just say a character they look like or something.

Sally Jefferson is thirty-one, her pronouns are she/her and she is asexual aromantic. She likes writing, the beach, lollies and the colour blue. I'd say she looks like Lilith from the owl house, if Lilith had dark brown hair, brown eyes and didn't have completely white skin. So you know how in a lot of fantasy groups there is a 'team mum', well Sally is literally all of our adoptive mother, adopting people like me who weren't born here, thus our parents aren't here. Sally came here when she was sixteen and had to fend for herself so she decided that no kid would have to do that again.

Alexis Bynes is thirteen, Their pronouns are they/them and they are pansexual. They like filming, video editing and general movie making. They look like Bianca from Wednesday, if Bianca had long hair that was always in two buns. Alexis is a rare 'writer' who isn't just a writer but a screenwriter, as well as a general filmmaker. They are also dyslexic which is not the reason that they don't primarily write, but it's a factor.

Ebony Ash is the oldest kid at sixteen, her pronouns are she/her and she is lesbian. She likes archery, hand-to-hand combat and music. She looks like a mix of Annabeth from Percy Jackson and Katniss from The Hunger Games. Ebony was the first kid Sally adopted and is the closest to her as she had no mum back in the normal world.

And then there's me, Mars Menara, I'm currently twelve but I will be thirteen in a couple months. I am genderfluid and I'm still figuring out my sexuality, i just know that I'm asexual and not attracted to men. I like books (perhaps too much), The Owl House (also perhaps too much) and writing. I have ADHD which is the reason sometimes I can stay up for hours writing and sometimes I have no motivation. I like to say I look like brunette Will Solace from Percy Jackson. And that's me.

Sally says that because I'm here the characters I've written would be too which will be interesting because I didn't finish what I was working on so-

Anyway I've got to go, Sally's calling us for dinner, we're having tacos.
