As I picked up my broken wand from the cold forest floor, I felt a piercing flame burst through my left shoulder and I fell to my knees, hissing at the sudden pain. While I kneeled on the ground I felt the blood run down my arm, it was over for me. As held my shoulder in pain while gritting my teeth I slowly looked up and was met with my mother's familiar piercing blue eyes. She was here to undo her biggest mistake, me. As I stared up at her I could see the sorrow in her eyes as she slowly placed her warm hand against my face and stroked my cheek gently, she had her orders.
I closed my eyes and smiled. “I love you, Mama.” she looked at me with pleading eyes to fight back but she knew I couldn't, I would never hurt her. She let out a sob as and fell to her knees to hug me. “I love you too, mi Hijo,” I could hear the grief in her voice and It broke me. My mother loved me no matter what, she was my whole world and I had let her down. I never meant for any of this to happen but in the end, I failed her.
I felt the knife sink into my chest and I winced at the sharp pain that shot through my body. She started to cry harder, “I'm so sorry, mi Hijo.” She held me gently as I whipped her tears away, “It’s ok mama, it’s better this way.” My vision started to dim and I knew my time was up. Everything went dark in a matter of seconds then all that was left was the welcoming warmth of death.
I awoke with a jolt, I was alone in the forest but the strange scent of whisky and spice lingered. Why was I brought back? I was finally going to be at peace and I would be free! I sighed and got up while brushing the dirt off of my clothing. Whoever brought me back was going to pay for that mistake. I stretched my hands out and called my magic back to me, it came rushing like a dog being called by its master. The magic swirled in the air around me as I started the teleportation spell, then I disappeared, only leaving a faint trace of dark magic in the bitter-cold air.
