The kids pretended to be troops. They said they were going on a campaign. Then they emerged from the bushes to fight the other troops. They then realized that there wasn't any other troops (kids) to fight they were all by themselves. Then they finally realized there was no "they" or "them" they were just one little boy who wished he had friends to play with. He kept pretending that he was happy so his parents wouldn't worry. But under that big smile and laughter there was a sad, depressed kid with no friends. He was also being bullied by most the class because he wasn't the brightest. So everyday when he got home he would go into his room and imagine he was playing with his "friends". That kid's name was Sam. He was once the happiest kid in his town, he would play with all his friends and was never sad, always happy. But then one day, his house burnt down when he was at school so he had to move. He never truly smiled again, sure he would fakely smile but it wasn't a true smile. In his old school he had a lot of friends because they didn't care if he wasn't the brightest they just wanted him, but in his new school everybody judged him for being "stupid". Nobody wanted to be friends with him. Nobody. Well now that you know his backstory let's go to the present. He was walking through the halls on a normal Wednesday smiling to himself when a girl his age walked up to him. "Hello" said the girl with a big smile on her face. "Hi" said Sam a bit confused. "Do you want to be friends?" asked the girl. "Sure, I'm Sam what's your name?" "Hi Sam, my name's Valery " said the girl "Want to go play on the swings with me?" asked Valery "Sure" said Sam. Then Valery took Sam's hand and skipped to the swings, Sam skipped with her happy that he finally had a friend in his new school.
