It was the year 2781. As the 4 moons lit up the night sky, the beasts of the Roshigi Forest became restless. The howls of the wolves, the cries of prey being devoured by predators, the melody of the crickets song and the rustling of leaves by the wind could be heard. At the outskirts of the Roshigi forest, a hooded man with crimson red eyes placed a newborn child with black hair and black eyes on the side of a tree. As he placed the child, he heard 2 people heading in his direction.

"They will take care of you, my child."

The hooded man then looked up to the beautiful night sky and quickly left before the 2 people arrived.

"Alexander, when we get back home I will teach you a new technique to better control your gift" said an old big muscular man. The man had a battle scar across his left eye. Even though he was bald, he had a nice long beard to compensate for his lack of hair. He was carrying the corpse of what seemed to be a tiger on his shoulders.

"But phapha I'm already tired. We've been hunting beasts all night long" said a young blonde-haired boy with caramel brown eyes. Unlike Tsander's rough brown complexion which indicated his years on the battlefield, he had smooth white skin. He seemed tired and had blood stains all over his tattered clothes. He also had bruises which he received from all the training he went through that night.

"I only have 8years left to train you before you turn 15. I told you already that when you turn 15, you will have to go through the Trail Of The Sacred and if you're not rea-"

Before he could finish his sentence, he spotted movement from the corner of his right eye. He immediately looked towards the moving object and saw a baby waving its hands in the air. It was the baby which was placed next to the stomp of a tree. Tsander and Alexander walked up to the baby.

"Now what do we have here?"

"Another abandoned" said Alexander with a saddening face.

"Just like you were 7 years ago Alex before you became my son."

Tsander picked him up. Normally when children and especially babies looked at him they started to scream or cry, but not this time. This time the baby was laughing and touching his beard. In a heartbeat, Tsander fell in love with the child and therefore his mind was made up. Even though Tsander seemed like a brute, he was a kind-hearted man with a soft spot for children. Especially abandoned children, for he also was one of them.

"It seems that I have been blessed with another son" Tsander said with a smile on his face.

7years later at the Elmin hills, which was located not far from the Roshigi forest.

At the break of dusk, Alexander sparred with a young black-haired boy, while Tsander sat in front of the hut slowly roasting a wild boar almost twice his size.

"Keep your fists up Tuj, or else you'll keep losing to your brother like you always do" said Tsander as he then laughed and wiped his hands on his apron.

Exhausted Tujitou lifted his fists as his father advised. He immediately focused on Alexander trying to find any openings he could.

'I won't be able to get to him if I keep doing the same thing. He’s way stronger and better than me. Maybe if I trick him, I could be able to finally beat him.'

And like a shooting star passing the night sky, it came to him. A way to finally beat his brother. He smirked as confidence started building up in him.

"I'll get you this time Alex."

"Well come on then. I don't have all day" Alexander said with a smile on his face.

Tujitou charged towards Alexander as he did before. 

'Not yet. If I use it now it will be too obvious. Just play it out, until I find the right moment to strike.'

 Alexander, who knew the gap between their skills, kept dodging his attacks just to taunt him. Just as Tujitou planned. It was now finally time to execute his plan.

Tujitou tried to kick Alexander's head with his right leg using all his strength, but Alexander easily dodged it, as usual. Tujitou then used the momentum from his kick to his advantage and did a spinning kick with his left leg. Alexander, who did not expect this, froze up for a moment. Thankfully due to Alexander's amazing reflexes, he was able to grab Tujitou his leg with his arm, spun him around and then threw Tujitou on a pile of leaves.

As Tujitou laid on the pile of leaves, Alexander came up to him to help him stand up.

"You did better this time around. You almost managed to graze me with that kick. If it weren't for my reflexes, you might have succeeded."

"I’ll get you next time Alex! " Tujitou implied with an annoyed face.

"And I'll be waiting on you lil bro" said Alexander as he laughed and tousled Tujitou his hair.

"It's already getting late, let's eat" said Tsander.

"Coming" they both responded.

"I bet you were using your gift" Tujitou mumbled as they walked up the hill.

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

Alexander and Tujitou then walked towards their hut and sat on the logs which were placed around the roasted wild boar Tsander prepared. They then feasted on the wild boar, talked  and laughed as if they had no worries in the world.

While Tujitou was finishing his last piece of meat, Tsander and Alexander idly waited on him to finish eating.

"Alex over 2 years you will have to go through the Trial Of The Sacred, so tomorrow I will send you to do some special training by yourself. You will have to learn to survive in the outskirts of the Roshigi forest on your own. If it's too easy you may venture further, but under no circumstances are you allowed to go beyond the lake. Also, you already know this, but only if it is absolutely necessary are you allowed to use your powers. This will be your task before entering the Lygis."

"I'll prepare myself as soon as we finish here phapha."

"What about me?", Tujitou eagerly asked as he nibbled on a piece of bone.

"Tujitou, I will teach you how to better control your powers. You may have the power to create fire, but you don't know how to control it yet. And since your fire gets easily blown out by a little breeze, it's best if I start teaching you how to increase the amount of fire you can produce."

"But how?"

"If I may phapha", Alexander said as he looked at Tsander for his approval. Tsander nodded.

"Unlike humans, we unleveled have a substance called aqua in our bodies. Nobody knows how we are born with it, but we do know the origin of this substance. It's a substance that can only be found in the Lygis. It does not only allow us to grow faster, mature faster and live longer than normal humans, but it also allows us to use powers that we call gifts. Just like how your gift is the ability to conjure and control fire. In the Lygis aqua is everywhere. It's almost like air there, but on earth there is none. The only way to obtain this substance here is for a leveled to bring some from the Lygis. That's why for unleveled like the two of us, it is very dangerous to exhaust too much of this substance. For if we exhaust too much, we might lose the ability to use our gifts forever or we might even die from it. Of course, it is possible to buy containers of aqua from guilds that bring some back to earth, but these are only for unleveled who are part of one of the academies for unleveled. if it weren't for phapha we would be forced to join an academy. But I digress. I believe it would be best to start at the fundamentals. Your problem with controlling fire, much less creating it, might be because you don't understand the nature of fire itself. So I think he might have thought up some ideas to help you with that."

"That's correct Alex, thank you. I see you have been reading my books in the attic" Tsander complimented Alex as he nodded.

"And that is what I'll start teaching you tomorrow Tuj."

After having explained all of it to Tujitou the only response they heard back from him was a loud snore. They quickly turned to look at Tujitou asleep on the ground with a bone in his mouth. When they saw him they laughed. Right after, they became quiet and looked up at the night sky. All you could hear was the crackling of the fire, the sound of grasshoppers and crickets dancing through the grass and the rustling of leaves caused by the gentle breeze.

"Phapha I wish we could stay like this forever. "

"Me too son. Me too", said Tsander while stroking Tujitou's head.
