The Omega's Conflict

Chapter 1: Bo

Chapter 1: Bo

Jan 09, 2024

Feeling his throat start to close up and his stomach twist and turn, Bo looked out the window of the car. He regretted his decision soon enough as watching the trees breeze past made him feel even more sick. The fresh air helped though, finally able to breathe in enough to escape the suffocation of the cramped and humid car.

This was his first day of class at a new school and he was completely losing it.

“Fuck. I’m so screwed.” Bo shoved his head back against the head rest. He was hoping that if he did it enough times, he wouldn’t have to live to go through what was about to happen.

Only recieving a cocky smile and shove on the shoulder did not make him feel better, whatever his childhood bestfriend, Carter, would say.

Carter, who has practiced and perfected transferring schools more times than he can count, has Bo expecting nothing less, but it still doesn’t stop him from being somewhat jealous.

“You ready?” Carter asked, peering over to see if Bo had thrown up in his car yet.

Not answering, Bo looked to see that they had arrived.

He ambled out of the car and looked around, noticing that there was a suspicious amount of brightly smiling students walking around. Before he could walk any further though, Carter blocked his view of the school doors and grabbed him by the shoulders.

Already knowing that it was because of his messy appearance, Bo rolled his eyes as Carter fixed his tie, straightening it while glaring at him for not answering his question.

Bo was anxious to get into the school and have to deal with the stabbing eyes of his new peers. Being the new kid sucked.

While Carter was grabbing their bags, Bo spotted a group of alphas and immediately gagged in repulsion. Due to his outlandish nature, alphas always had a field day with him. Bo wasn’t exactly the textbook definition of an omega, and it usually resulted in quite a bit of backlash.

Thanking the heavens that his bestfriend was a beta, Bo was too distracted to notice the person running at him at full speed.

“Mmph.” Fallen over, Bo knew immediately who would have the audacity to knock him over like that.

Able to see the pastel purple set of hair, Bo was able to confirm his suspicions.

“I can’t breathe,” Bo choked out as he was almost squeezed to death by strong arms.

“Sorry, sorry. Just can’t believe I finally get to see my boyfriend after so long” Sol exclaimed, exuding excitement.

“...It’s been a week.”

Sol stuck out his tongue at Bo, trying to hide that he was blushing from embarrassment.

Sol was an omega like Bo, both completely different and yet sharing in that one factor. They were in a happy, healthy, and completely normal relationship. Society, as they grew up with, did not share the same views.

Bo was feeling a little better after meeting Sol. It helped that Sol was already a student at the school, so he could show Bo where the most isolated spot was for him to hide from other people.

It wasn’t until Carter coughed to indicate that people were looking after they got up that Bo realized he was still hugging Sol. They both looked away from eachother sheepishly after quickly separating.

During the summer, it was easy not to worry about the views of others, as they were isolated in the woods, both visiting a small riverside town for the summer. Carter, being childhood best friends with Bo, had come along, claiming his reigning title of a perpetual third wheel.

While Carter’s presence was appreciated, he always seemed to bring them back to the reality that their relationship wasn’t considered ‘normal’. Carter was a beta and didn’t need to worry about these things, having free reign to date whomever he liked without the crushing societal ideals that most omegas were under.

Bo, while already a non-traditional omega, could still feel the overpowering scrutiny of others and while trying hard to defy it, he would break down from the pressure from time to time. In the end, it was just best to avoid the eyes of those who hold resentment towards them altogether.

Apparently not alert enough, Sol pulled out a massive thermos from his bag surely filled with a sugary and caffeinated concoction. Although he had started to shake from the combination of excitement and caffeine, he still drank it all.

Disapproving, Carter looked down upon Sol with disdain at his antsy personality so early in the morning.

While both Sol and Carter made to go towards the school doors, Bo stayed back. Expectantly looking at him, Sol waited a minute before pulling him along. Obviously lying and telling him it wouldn’t be that scary, Sol started to speed up, having his backpack jingle with his numerous keychains.

Bo adamantly denied it but still allowed himself to be pulled along while Carter walked alongside them, eyeing their connected hands.

Does Bo not "look like" an omega? Is he taller or more muscular than they would normally look?
