Long ago in a faraway kingdom there lived a woman in the forest. Within every waking moon, she would go to the river, a secret river with hidden power. Whenever someone dipped their toes in the water, they would be filled with eternal peace. The young women kept this secret far from the rest but not for greed. The father of the land, King Jahara was taken by surprise when a famine struck the land. The princess, Caleen had to help defend her father from desperate times. But fear rose in her for she would be queen soon and her father no longer helping her with her duties as queen. So every night she would go to the river and fight the urge to run away from her responsibility.
One night however that would change forever. The river began to dry up. The famine reached the water and she could no longer rely on the powers of the river. Desperate to find to keep calm she told her father of her fear and wept. “ My child..” he said with a smile. “ ...I brought you into this world because I can and will see no fear in your eyes. So don’t fear don’t cry and don’t feel sorrowful because someday that fear will no longer be in you.”
The father hugged his child with great pride, proud of his daughter for being honest. But alas Caleen was still fearful. One night when no one was around, she ran. Far, far away into a land where she would never get hurt. And filled with water and covered in peace.
But what of the land she promised to look after?
