James and Lily Potter, quietly in there cozy home in Godric's Hallow.
The babies Harry and Haylee were both giggling and smiling happily with their father James. Lily, who was busy preparing the baby's bath, looked at them with her bright eyes.
As she knew that it could all be taken away at any moment, she try's to make everything last for as long as possible. Any moment, her precious little angles could have a horrid future, the prophecy.
Quickly brushing such thoughts away, She noticed James smiled contently at the sight of there children. Hoping it was all fake.
James and Lily watched her children carefully, taking in every aspect of them. Hoping to remember them if any bad stuff happens. They both inherited jet black hair, from their father, but they both had the same bright, that Lily had given them.
Many people thought Harry and Haylee were the same gender, considering how amazingly similar they looked. Still smiling to her picture perfect life, Lily walked to her husband's side, kneeled down by him and kissed him.
"They're perfect, aren't they?" She whispered. "They are, my love" James replied, leaning over to kiss his wife's cheek. "Come on now, it's time they went to sleep."
"Aw, but Lily, we're having so much fun," James whined, looking up at Lily with pleading eyes.
"There's always tomorrow, sweetheart." She replied. "And I'm sure that Harry and Haylee won't mind waiting until then," Lily continued, picking a yawning Haylee up from the ground. James followed her lead and took tired Harry in his arms. He followed Lily upstairs to the nursery, to see Haylee already there glittering gold and red cot.
The twins were always super close, from the moment they were old enough to interact with other. So close in fact, they sleep in the same cot. They slept better beside each other, so Lily and James made a wider cot for them.
James carefully placed Harry in the cot beside his sister and smiled at the sight of them yawning widely.
"Nighty night my darlings" Lily whispered, staring at the two sets of bright green eyes. "Goodnight, my little prince and princess." James then said, giving both of his children a kiss upon the forehead. "See you guy tomorrow."
Clack, creek...
With the wards up around their house, only a select few were allowed inside the house.
And of course, James knew exactly who it was. Who else could it have been?
"Has to be be Padfoot, but I can't be sure" He said, before bounding back down the stairs to possibly greet one of his best friend. An amused Lily followed slowly and stopped at the foot of the stairs.
At that moment, neither knew that James would never see there little ones ever again. James reached the door and peered out cautiously the window, only to see a dark, cloaked figure walking - almost gliding, towards the front door.
It was him.
A million thoughts were going through James' head; who betrayed them? What will happen now? He slammed and locked the door shut, and turned to his loving wife, all the colour gone from his face. "Lily, it's him! Quickly, take Harry and Haylee! I'll hold him off!" James shouted, pulling his wand from his pocket.
"I can't leave you, James!" Lily cried, looking frantically between James and the twin's room. "I love you!"
"And I love you too, always!" James screamed, "Please my darling GO!" James knew in his heart, that he would never see Lily again. He knew that he was currently in his last moments of life. But with bravery of a true Gryffindor he would fight, fight for his family.
Lily took one last quick look at James, before sprinting upstairs to Harry and Haylee's nursery, regretfully accidently her wand downstairs. Heart beating fast and mind racing fast, Lily made a split second decision to burst through the nursery door.
She pushed a large cupboard in front of the door, with all her might, thinking that it should delay Lord Voldemort. It was then that Harry and Haylee began crying, as they were woken up by the yelling and shouting outside the house.
She then collapsed beside Harry and Haylee's cot and stared straight into the eyes of her children - into the eyes that all three of them shared. "Haylee...Harry...mummy loves you...daddy loves you. You are so loved...so loved." Lily said in a hushes voice, in a feeble attempt to keep them calm. "Please don't cry!"
A loud thump made her jump very suddenly, and she caught sight of an unmistakable green flash of light through the small, thin gaps in the door.
James was dead. This much she was certain. A sob escaped her mouth, and she pulled herself to her feet. I have to run, she thought to herself.
She took one final glance at Harry and Haylee, before turning to the door, ready to protect them with everything she had. Suddenly, the furniture was blown away like it was a feather, along with the door, revealing Lord Voldemort, in the person.
Lily swallowed the lump in her throat and stared the Dark Lord straight in the eyes.
"Stand aside, and you will be spared," Voldemort said, pointing his wand straight at Lily. "Please, have mercy. Kill me instead!" Lily pleaded. "Stand aside, silly girl!" Voldemort hissed. "This doesn't concern you." "Please, anything but my children! I'll do anything!"
"Stand aside!" Voldemort warned, for the very last time. "Please! Not Harry and Haylee!" Lily cried, standing her ground, tears dripping down her face.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A bright green spark hit Lily's chest and she froze. Memories flashed behind her eyelids before she hit the ground with a loud thump.
She was dead too.
Voldemort then turned to Harry and Haylee, who were still sat in their cot, crying like before. They were the true reason he visited Godric's Hollow for. He looked down at them: at the tears running from their bright Lily like eyes and at the overall distress they were obviously feeling.
Yet, he felt no pity for sympathy for them, glory more than them. Instead, he only felt a need to get the job done. He pointed his wand at Haylee, deciding to end the girl's life first, since she was much smaller then Harry, thinking she was weaker.
"Avada Kedavra." He said, for the third time that night.
A green spark shot from Voldemort's wand, and it hit Haylee's forehead.
But something remarkable happened that night: instead of killing Haylee, the green spark left only a peculiar shaped scar, before rebounding towards Harry's forehead, leaving an identical scar on him too.
The spark then rebounded once again, this time towards the caster himself. The spark destroyed Voldemort's body. The little Potter twins were left with nothing but matching scars and each other still in their cot.
And it was a long while before somebody came to collect them.
They were sent to live with Lily's Muggle sister and her family, up until their eleventh birthday, when they would receive letters of acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Even though Harry and Haylee were left with no memory of that dreaded night, news of what happened spread like wildfire. That night, every witch and wizard raised a glass to
Harry and Haylee; for they ended Voldemort's reign of terror.
And from that night on, they were known as The Twins That Lived.
