“I am alive,” the young man whispered to himself as his eyes gazed into the dark sky adorned with twinkling gems. With every moment that passed, some blood would ooze out of his lacerated body and pool under him, turning the clear lake below red.
“Sleeping under the vast sky… Not bad,” the man’s voice turned softer and softer until it was almost inaudible even to himself. At the same time, his heavy eyelids shut close, too. In a few moments, he started to take in slow and deep breaths.
Moments later, the blood that slowly seeped out of the young man’s body stopped in its tracks, and turned a darker shade of crimson that almost resembled ink. Slowly, the blood pooling under him took on the same dark color and began wriggling around like worms.
Looking at the scene closely, one would realize the man’s blood had started to flow in reverse. The now-ink-like blood began crawling back onto the man’s body, and made its way to the wounds where it previously flowed out from, slowly sewing those wounds.
It was a truly fascinating, yet mind-boggling, scene.
………
As the first rays of dawn illuminated the sky, a young man floating in the middle of a lake slowly opened his eyes. Immediately, two pitch-black orbs with specks of flickering light floating through them shone with an exotic luster.
“Looks like another great day,” though barely audible, the words still made their way through the man’s barely moving pale lips. In the next moment, he blinked… but the pitch-black orbs were nowhere to be seen anymore. Replacing the previous darkness were a pair of shining white and lustrous blue.
Slowly moving around, and using the still water of the lake as support — treating it as a solid surface — the man sat up straight. Stretching his arms upward, with his back arching forward, he lazily yawned and looked around.
Immediately, a massive lake — with a surface as clear as a mirror — entered his vision. It was beautiful, and he had no doubt the night would turn it even more breathtaking. Taking in the full beauty of the lake, he stood up on its surface as if he was standing on land.
