My parents always wanted me to become a powerful wizard enough to protect the kingdom and it's people. I don't own courage yet to pay my life in the battle against Witches but might be any sooner.
The towers of the castle stood as high as the dark clouds formed over it. The main pillar out of the three is tall enough to surpass the raining clouds. Almost everything has gone sunk into chilled winds and dark scenario. Far as the eye reach, more the fog dense. I could barely see. Except the stone made entrance and the gloomed castle, anything else is barely visible.
It's the third day of witchcraft out of the ten days. Also called the dark festival or a ritual performed by the Witches in August to obtain supreme powers. The guys behind me wore a Knight armour same as me consisting of a sword, helmet, shield and other equipment to protect the body.
Since, we have walk all the way here from the remote areas across the kingdom. Travelling isn't a easy job and trade, it is vicious. Alone travellers might get attack by the Witches. Few were killed in my village and few were robbed. It's believed that the Witches rob to obtain the silver and gold coins for mixing it in their toxic potion.
We all consist of seven guys following a single man. His hand were on his back with a think short wooden stick which had a small green gem. His black hair reached to his shoulder and his black coat till his toes. Its getting stains by the mud as he walked. Did he even knew this?
It is believed that the Witches are scared to death if they saw someone with black outfit. But still many people have died even after wearing black attire.
We seven follow the tall wizard ahead of us in a parade. The town consist of stone pathways and small houses. In one such House a little boy is having dinner with his parents. The light inside their house is emitted even outside form the glass window. I can't seem to understand how they think, from what I was tutored always have guard on otherwise the Witches can attack anytime. Like now, we have our sword and shields to protect us from the Witches that might show up form the fog and attack.
The tall man moved his head to the left and had his eyes on me.
"It's useless, the Witches don't show up in the capital"
All of us had our shield down all together. I was the one who was walking at the front. I had my eyes glared at the Wizards for knowing the reason, why the Witches don't show up in the capital.
The man continued to walk and so do we followed his lead. Some of us who shivered calm down yet a few were still scared. How can any one become a wizard if they are afraid of the fog. Or to be honest scared of the Witches that might attack from the fog. We all knew nothing about us since the past miles we have been walking in fear. Some other that continued with us had ran away back to their villages. How frighten they must be to know that they existence is a mere play of death.
But if I couldn't become a wizard then my existence is void.
"A group of deadbeat, work hard" the said and stopped.
The fog in front of him cleared out and an immense building showed up. The stone walls were lighten up by green fire. Inside the gate lies a huge ground and a stone pathway to the building. The building was so immense that it can't be captured with single eyes.
We all walked near the gate which was bronze and had two lions statue at each corner.
"Stop!" the statue on the left side said with green light emitting form it's mouth.
"You must be a member of the University to enter" the statue of the left said with the same green light emitting inside its mouth.
We all stood in confusion but the man continued to walk ahead, "I am Professor Dairie" the man said with an smile.
"Oh, Daire" the green light vanished form the mouth of the lion and the gate opened with dense noises.
It looked like it's been ages since it was last opened.
We followed the man again but this time, he looked happy some how with smile on his face. We walked on the stone path which made strange noises as we stepped on them. But they were the only way to walk since it was mud all around. The land from my village to the capital was soaked maybe because of the rain. Strange thing was that it was ghost quiet when the man stepped on the stone pathways. My eyes were on his foots and at his every footstep.
"These stone tiles make noises when someone who is not registered in the academy walks on them. If it feels threat from the person it can even produce thorns to attack the invader"
He smiled, "And so does this mud, it can engulf anyone unknown.....
He was quickly stopped by my Loud Yellings. A prodigious sharp thorn pierced my knee completely. It was so big that I felt my knee bone Broken.
The pain shivered down my spine to the whole body. Even the other leg was as good as boiled noddle and the injured leg was abysmal. Only Lugubrious screams could escape out the jaw. I could feel the knee bifurcate. Tears shed out of the blood red eyes and saliva out of the dropped jaw. I could feel my chest falling down along with the head.
