"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard..." Eliana Jung barely registered the flight attendant's announcement as she busied herself rummaging through her small shoulder bag.
"Finally!" she exclaimed as she unearthed her dark red lipstick from the depths of her bag. She located her compact mirror and meticulously applied the lipstick to complement her red dress.
"We would like to begin the boarding process for our flight to Germany..." Eliana sighed as the announcement droned on. She hadn't anticipated her mission dragging on like this.
Sighing again, she envied her colleagues vacationing in the Maldives. "This is so unfair!" she grumbled, picturing them frolicking on the beaches while she was stuck on a plane bound for Germany.
"What's unfair?" Eliana ignored the question from the man sitting beside her.
"...we are here to ensure your safety and comfort throughout the journey." As the announcement concluded, Eliana's bored expression sharpened, an evil smirk creeping onto her face. Finally! After a long wait, she could focus on her mission and hopefully join her colleagues in the Maldives soon. Just the thought of the white sand between her toes spurred her on. "Let the game begin!" she whispered, scanning her surroundings.
Upon spotting her target, she activated her bracelet, a simple silvery band with a snake coiled in the crown pendant—the symbol of their organization, the Imperial Serpent Organization.
"Good day, this is Agent Striker. I will be your eyes for this mission," Eliana heard in her earpiece. She prayed silently for a swift conclusion to this mission so she could join her colleagues on the beach.
"Good day, Agent Striker, Agent Hyacinth at your service. The target is 43 meters away from me," she whispered, preparing to approach. But the man beside her leaned in, nearly hugging her arm. She pushed him away, irritated by the distraction.
"Do I know you?" Eliana asked, attempting to maintain her composure. "No. But surely, you do know me," the man replied, proudly. Eliana facepalmed in frustration. Who was this man?
"Look, I don't know who you are..." Eliana's voice was drowned out as the man interrupted, almost shouting. She stood and made her way to the restroom, grateful he didn't follow, though she could still hear his grumbling.
Agent Striker chuckled softly, likely overhearing her exchange with the man. "Shut up!" she hissed, eliciting more silent laughter from her colleague. "Okay, back to your mission."
With determination, Eliana approached her target, only to be halted by the persistent man from earlier. "Where are you going? Here's your seat," he insisted, pointing to her designated spot. Eliana's patience wore thin as she pushed past him and resumed her pursuit, only to find her target had vanished, sprinting toward economy class.
Quickly, she gave chase, ultimately tackling the leader. "Damn! You're such a pain in the neck. Sancho Rivera, you are under arrest..." Eliana's words faltered as she realized it wasn't Sancho.
She looked up to see the real Sancho smirking at her. "Wow, I didn't know I could fool the great Agent Hyacinth that easily," he taunted.
Apologizing, Eliana released the impostor, trying to save face. "Come on, Sancho, that was child's play," she retorted, her attempt at mockery falling flat.
The economy class passengers watched in disbelief as the scene unfolded.
"Let's not make this difficult, Sancho. Just surrender," Eliana urged, offering him handcuffs.
Sancho scoffed. "ISO destroyed all your bases. Once we land in Germany, more agents will arrest you. Give up for both our sakes," she pressed, hoping to coax him into surrendering.
Eliana smirked as Sancho's demeanor darkened at the mention of his bases.
"Do you think this is the end of the Shadow Consortium?" Sancho's tone grew menacing, and he launched an attack.
Anticipating his moves, Eliana fought back, realizing he wasn't aiming to defeat her, but to stall.
"Agent Hyacinth! Hyacinth, are you listening?!" She didn't understand why Agent Striker was panicking. She continued defending as well as attacking Sancho, but she still managed to reply to Agent Striker.
"This is a trap! That is not the real Sancho Rivera!" She was taken aback at what she heard. She lost her focus, making Sancho punch her in the stomach and in the face.
She saw how the people were also panicking as they were trying to call for security help. "They planted a bomb on that plane. It will blow out in 10 minutes." It seemed like Eliana didn't know how to process the information Agent Striker just dropped off.
"What now, Hyacinth? Aren't you going to fight me?" She looked sharply at the man who was cosplaying Sancho Rivera because of what he said. She can't believe she had been deceived, big time!
"Change of mission, Agent Hyacinth. Find the bomb and detonate it before it blows. ISO agents were also on their way to rescue you. Just hang on there. Everything will be alright..."
She didn't hear the rest of what Agent Striker was instructing him. She stands up while eyeing the man with so much anger.
The fake Sancho could feel the killing intent of Eliana, and he knows that it is all directed at him.
"I had enough with Shadow Consortium's game." She said coldly. With one swift movement, the muzzle of the gun she was holding moved on the fake Sancho's forehead.
One second later, she fired the gun, earning shouts and shrieks from the passengers who witnessed it. She leaves the lifeless body and walks toward the cockpit.
Securities were about to stop her, but they all backed out when she aggressively presented her ISO card. Then, they make way for her. The security knows better than to stop an ISO agent.
"There's a bomb in this plane." She nonchalantly says to the pilot, making him turn as white as paper. "The information came directly from ISO. They said it would blow up in about 10 minutes. We need to find it immediately. In that way, I can detonate it before it blows the rest of us."
As the crew and security scrambled to search, Eliana glanced out the window at the vast ocean, resigning herself to the fact that her Maldives vacation would have to wait.
