His name was Myles Stormbrook. Well, it is Myles Stormbrook, as he is quite alive and well. This is the beginning of his tale of how he became one of the most powerful villains known to the 5 Nations through a series of mere coincidences and accidents. Myles attended the Rayheart Magical Institute, located within the great city of Greensport. Greensport itself was situated within Hartstrom, one of the great five nations. The town was busy and had multiple institutions of magic. Rayheart was the best by far and one of the hardest to enter. Only 100 students were accepted each year, and the program lasted around 8. Once you went in, your life was dedicated to magic learning in hopes of becoming a full-fledged mage. By the end of their eight years, most were well-practiced enough to be hired by even the King and Queen, something unique to Rayheart. Myles had been younger than your average student when he entered the Institute. He had just turned twelve, yet he passed the entrance exam with flying colors. It is easy to predict how he did throughout the rest of his time there. As he slowly turned into an adult, he became a powerful mage. Rumors had it that he was teaching the professors about the new skills he was developing by the end. He indeed was a bright star and a shining pupil. He graduated at age 20, top of his class, with skills that would easily land him a job anywhere. Yet he remained jobless for five whole years. You see, when he graduated, he came to realize something. He had worked himself to death. The entire eight years at the best Institute for magic in the world had been spent just focusing on his studies. The moment he got out, without any structure, he more or less collapsed. His desire to work was close to none. Even though he had all of the opportunities in the world, he declined them all. Instead, he decided to stay with his older sister, drinking tea and helping take care of her house while she and her partner were away at work. He was pretty content like this, and during this time, he developed an immense amount of love for tea. However, love isn’t quite strong enough of a word. He was devoted to tea drinking, almost religiously. To him, he found peace and refuge in tea. The world melted away with each warm sip, and he was brought to a place of calm. That was, more or less, what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Drink tea, read, and take care of a cat or two and some house plants. His sister, however, disapproved of this life plan for him, and soon enough, she began to beg him to at least look at taking on work. She was going to be moving with her partner, who was being called to the capital. That meant that she wanted to sell the house and that he would need to find somewhere else to live unless he intended on buying it from them. This news greatly upset the genius Myles, who felt as if his happiness was suddenly getting ripped from him. “This is not fair to suddenly throw at me, Pris!” He yelled, standing up as he looked at his sister. She was tall and beautiful. She had freckles and the family’s signature long black hair, and Myles had to admit that she was a hot ticket. Her partner was fortunate to have her. “This is not sudden, Myles. We have been telling you for months now that we are looking to move. It just so happens that now we have a timeframe. Please. You have been living here as a freeloader since you graduated! Top of your bloody class at Rayheart, and what do you have to show for it?! I want to live my own life, and I am sorry, but I cannot let you hold Byuri or me back simply because you developed a laziness problem.” Pris or Priscillia yelled back, not a bit concerned about her volume. “What happened to you? What happened to that dedicated boy I used to know?” “Don’t pull that shit! You know how much that pisses me off! Gods! Fine, fine. Regardless it doesn’t matter. I will have to manage anyways since you are forcing my hand. I can get any job I want. The only thing is, I don’t want to work myself to death for assholes who don’t give a shit about me! Is that so wrong?” “That’s big talk for someone who has only ever gone to school! Do you think any of us like it? We have to work, or else we don’t eat. It is high time you figure that out. There’s no magic job that you don’t have to put hard work into. So stop whining like a child. I’m going outback. If you do not find a job within a month, I swear to the gods you will be shit out of luck.” That was the argument, and of course, Prisciilia was a woman of her word. As such, Myles was forced out into the world to try and find a job. He spent the next week going into town to search for anything, yet nobody seemed to be hiring. At this rate, he was worried he would have to actually move back to the city, which was one of the least attractive places for the poor boy. He hated crowds, you see. Thus we find ourselves at the point where Myles learns a valuable lesson. He was out riding to town to have a cup of tea at a local tea shop. He had spent the day helping Pris with packing, and the thought of soon being homeless depressed him. So he wanted to have a cup of tea in peace before everything fell apart. However, in the woods, he encountered a dragon. That is correct, a full-ass dragon. For a bit of explaining, dragons were not native to this area. Nor were they widespread even in areas where they were native. They often lived alone and only came down if something was very wrong, and usually, they took out thousands of people with them. There was one dragon; however, that was far more aggressive than the rest, killing thousands just for its fun. That was this dragon. Windfighter was his name, and he was a rather infamous dragon known for taking down countless armies and powerful creatures alike. Few were able even to stand a chance against him, and even fewer would be able to have a chance of defeating the beast. He was quickly the size of five cows, which was small for a dragon. However, his magical abilities made up for his small size. His scales were coated in gold and red, with black specks that were said to memorize his prey. Swords did not bite him, nor could any impact harm him. Myles, however, did not realize that this dragon was Windfighter. All he saw was an object on his way to get his beloved tea. He sighed as he sat on his horse, a good mare named Daisy. Daisy was an outstanding pinto mare with an attitude if she did not get her sugar cubes before a ride. Daisy feared no gods, let alone a dragon. “Damn… This is annoying.” Myles muttered, looking down at Daisy, who just blew air out of her nose as if to agree. “Listen, you. I’ll give you ten seconds to leave before I’ll do anything. I’m not in the mood for this shit.” He groaned, staring at the dragon. Windfighter merely began to laugh, a deep and menacing voice emerging from the dragon. “You foolish mortal--” It took that little time. Myes raised his hand, and a pentacle formed out of magical particles in front of him. His eyes turned red as he muttered a simple spell. “Dregt” A large mass of magic began to spin and turn within the pentacle, and it quickly went after the dragon. Windfighter tried to move to avoid getting hit, yet it followed him perfectly despite his immense speed. Each point, five to be exact, hit him in his weakest areas that no human should have known. The explosion was large enough to make the trees around them snap in half. Windfighter fell to the ground, unable to move and with his magic inaccessible. It happened instantly, and yet the mighty beast had been rendered helpless. “Annoying as hell. See, a simple spell like that managed to take you down? Who is the fool now?” Myles said, his voice more or less deadpan. “Come on, Daisy. I want to get to tea before they run out--” “What is your name?” The dragon’s booming voice asked, looking at Myles with a strange glimmer in his eyes. “Myles. Myles Stormbrook.” Myles responded, figuring he would give the dragon that much. However, he did not process that most dragons did not speak human languages. Let alone this well. “Myles Stormbrook… You are the first and only to have ever defeated me, the great dragon Windfighter. Please, allow me to be in your services, my lord. I shall be loyal and true to any who is powerful enough to beat me with a singular spell.” He bowed his head deeply. Myles took a moment before the information hit him. “Ha… Today is something else. Fine then, if it means you will leave me alone so I can go have tea.” He grumbled out in response. “Anything for you, my lord. I shall serve you until my dying days.” He said, looking back at his beaten-up body. “Before you leave, could I trouble you for a healing spell…? I cannot return home like this.” “Fine. Hold on.” He said he was only doing any of this to continue into town without a fuss. “Urilo.” He whispered, as was done with healing magic. A soft, warm glow formed around the dragon, and he was healed almost instantly. “My lord… Your magic is awe-inspiring... To think a mere---” “That’s great and all. I am going to go now.” Myles said, gently kicking Daisy to get her moving again. “Don’t bother me unless you have tea. Why can’t people understand this?” He grumbled to himself as he trotted away, leaving the shocked dragon to himself. This was how it began. Myles went off to have his cup of tea with Daisy, the pony who could not give two fucks. Windfighter went off to tell his wife and others of his new master and the extraordinary power he held. It took a week before word had gotten around the five nations. There was a new Villain who had defeated and brought in one of the most feared dragons. Myles the Destroyer, or Myles of the Storm. In his attempt to drink a cup of tea in peace, this was how Myles became the greatest villain of the five nations.
