There was a novel I read last week. I forgot the name, but it was your usual fantasy novel. A hero who struggles through his life and faces many difficulties but in the end is rewarded with peace and friends. And a villain who's supposed to create the obstacles until they meet their doom. There wasn't anything spectacular about the novel, but the pace was alright. One character stood out to me; he was the villain's brother. I think his name was Aden.
When first introduced he seemed like your typical spoiled young master but during the later arcs, there's a summary of his origins. Only a few years after his birth his mother fell terribly ill and died. It caused absolute chaos in his house since everyone loved his mother. His father becoming desperate started seeing him as a substitute since he greatly resembled his mother. His father stopped paying attention to his oldest son Ian making him burn with jealously. He would torment Aden and shame him in front of everyone. Aden could never surpass his older brother no matter how hard he tried.
Aden eventually gave up his lessons and started being a spoiled brat. However, he wasn't allowed to go outdoor and had to stick around his delusional doting father. He was a bird trapped in a cage. He was later killed by the hero and his teammates after he got mixed in with some dark magic cult due to his naivety and his brother's schemes.
His story is quite pitiful, and when the author wrote about his backstory I couldn't help but feel sad. He was only 15 when he died, and he was lonely throughout his life since no one saw him other than a resemblance of his mother. I was happy when the villain died at the end of the novel, I felt Aden received his revenge on his evil brother.

After finishing the novel, I wrote a review giving my thoughts on Aden and his character. As I was opening the door to my home, I was witnessed a terrifying scene. Two headlights were coming to my direction, the walls of my house were destroyed.
A truck...? Apparently, it was zooming my way and before I had the time to react the force impaled me.
Ouch, that hurts a lot.
I'm probably dead now. I don't really get it, this seems like your usual transportation novel where the main character gets killed off abruptly. Yes, I was killed off abruptly, but why was the truck slamming through my house and not on the street?
"I-I'm s-s-sorry!"
I hear a faint cry. Sounds like a chipmunk.
"I-I was supposed to send you off, but I fell asleep!! Ack!! I destroyed your house I'm so sorry!"
"I see..."
"Ah, um my name is Cesoi I am a goddess from another dimension."
Am I in a dream or something? Don't tell me this goddess can read my mind.
"Ahh!! I-I'm really sorry about the house!! I'm sorry!"
Nevermind, I don't think this one can.
"Am I being transported or something?"
"Wow! As expected I picked up someone smart!"
I hear the goddess clear her throat proudly.
"Ok is it an RPG style world, do I get any cheats?"
"No no. While you are indeed correct that your soul will be transported, ah sadly I do not have the power to give you any cheats."
"Is that so, well that's too bad."
"Yes, well you see I want you to help fix my world!"
"Huuu..."
"I made a lot of mistakes and drove a lot of people in the wrong direction due to my own clumsiness. I felt great guilt because I wasn't able to complete my duty and no matter how hard I tried there wasn't any way to fix my mistakes."
The goddess sighs. Even though I cannot see her I feel her tears.
"Ahh... There was a poor boy who died miserably by the hero's own hands! He was supposed to become good friends with the hero but I completely forgot to lead the boy down the right path and his life ended when he was only 15!! Wahhhhhh"
Hmm this goddess seems is incompetent.
"Wahhhhh my poor baby Aden wahhhhhhhh"
Aden? sounds like Aden Silvermere from that novel. He also died when he was 15.
Ah. I think I get it, my role probably has something to do with "leading the hero to the right path". Or this could just be a dream. I don't know.
"P-Please kind sir!! You are my last hope, please fix my mistakes and guide everyone so that their paths don't become corrupted!"
"I feel bad but I don't want to sorry."
"If you decline then...you die..."
"That's so cruel."
I give the goddess a disgusting look.
"Wahhh!! I'm sorry! I broke your house and also killed you!! But please, if you help me you'll get a second chance in life..."
"Sigh. Ok ok, I'll accept."
"Thank you...And I'm sorry about your house...ah and for killing you too...goodbye"
This damn chipmunk of a goddess. Is she being serious?
My vision goes black and I lose consciousness. I hear the goddess mutter a few words, probably thank you, goodbye or just more wailing.

"Young master Aden!"
I open my eyes to an unfamiliar setting.
"Who am I?"
"Y-Young master Aden! Please get a hold of yourself!"
Aden? Oh did I become Aden from the novel? No, let's get familiar with the setting first.
I look down and see a pair of pale small hands
"How owd am I?"
What the heck, I sound so young.
"Young master Aden...you is turning 5 this year."
"Aden? Aden Silvermere?"
"Yes...Young master, what is the matter? Do you still feel unwell?"
The maid looks at me with worried eyes. I'm too busy thinking about other things though.
Either I've become Aden from the novel or I'm just someone who happens to have the same name. I'm going to put my guesses on guess A since that is usually what happens.
If I'm 5 then I'm still extremely young. There's a chance my mother is still alive, maybe if I can get her to see a doctor before she gets too ill then the family won't go to ruin and I won't have to be locked up like a bird.
"Where's my mother?"
The maid is shocked. She hesitates to answer.
"The duchess...has already passed, young master I know it's hard for you to accept but please take care of your body first...Your fever is..."
Ahhhh Plan A has already failed. What the hell do I do now...?
