“Berlin sweetie could you come here for a minute.” My mother said as I walked down the stairs, “ Your father and I have decided to let you walk to and from school this year.” It was the Sunday before the first day of junior year. I was so excited to make new friends and finally get to join clubs and sports. “ But don't walk on the left side of the street! Berlin, Berlin!! Are you listening to me?” my mother's loud and cranky voice quickly broke me out of my daydream, “ Yeah I’m listening.” “ Don't walk on the left side of the street, ok! Always right, never left, or you will never walk anywhere ever again!!!!” my mother exclaimed to which I responded with “ But why? What's the big deal.” she quickly cut me off “ BECAUSE I SAID SO, I'M YOUR MOTHER AND YOU WILL RESPECT ME !!” “ Fine” I used as I stomped away to my room. After dinner, I went back to my bedroom to get some sleep before my first day. It was finally here I went over my morning routine “ Ok Berlin you got this, shower, fix your hair, do your makeup, eat and walk to school. As I walked to school I spoke to myself quietly, “ Who would have thought Berlin Cooper walking to school alone, an independent woman, I'll see mom at 4 and help with dinner when I get home.” As I continued walking to school I wondered why I was told not to walk on the left side of the street. I couldn't help it. I let my curiosity get the best of me. I crossed the street, as I ventured into the foggy left side of the street. Not long after I had proceeded deeper in the fog BANG!! I jumped in fear BANG!!! CRASH!!!
