‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Babe!! It's been so long!" Iara feels someone hugging her from behind and almost falls forwards, Iara's first reaction is to cringe at how there's a lot of people in the halls looking at them. She sighs and looks behind her seeing Lily. It's her first time seeing her with normal clothes, mostly they don't even wear clothes around each other. Lily is wearing the normal green uniform of the St Damian High School. Tight high socks, a small skirt and a little vest. With a little bowtie. Yes, a bowtie in 2024. Even if normally she is wearing something way more revealing Lily is still very pretty, she has short black hair that goes to her shoulder, a piercing in her nose and mouth, green eyes, pale skin and a beautiful smile. Iara holds her shoulders and says in a whisper.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Don't call me babe, and what are you wearing?" Lily rolls her eyes and begins to walk side by side with Iara.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Shut up, you're literally wearing the same thing"

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"But it looks great on me!" Iara says before doing a little spin, she is not wearing the uniform correctly. It's way more loose and the bowtie is hanging at her neck, but she does look good. She has curly hair, golden brown skin, a lot of visible tattoos in her arms and some invisible ones hidden in the clothes, bags under her eyes. She has an athletic build from cheerleading and usually a resting bitch face. This time she is smiling at her friend, who is once again feeling annoyed at the sarcasm.

 
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Looks better off you tho" The malicious smile that was forming in her mouth immediately leaves when she gets a little punch from Iara. She looks offended but keeps going. "And what the fuck are you actually doing here? Not trying to be an ass, but like... you know..."

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Iara understands the confusion, this is a private school and she doesn't even have close to the amount of money needed to study here and it's not even the first time Lily asked that. The only reason she is setting foot in the same place as the richest people in Louisiana is because the principal owed her father a favor.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"I'm smart enough to get a scholarship, are you doubting my skills?" Lily laughs very loudly, nodding with her head, which Iara hates because once again there's unnecessary attention in them.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Be honest, did you fuck the pastor's wife?" 

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Iara ignores the last comment and asks about the new show Lily is watching, it works like she expected and now she hears about how they fucked up with Riverdale. Iara and Lily have been friends for two years, and friends with benefits for a little longer than that. But they actually enjoy each other's company, mostly they would meet in Lily's house, have sex and then go on Instagram to make fun of Lily's classmates, it was wonderful. But now Iara is one of those classmates and she has a pretty clear plan.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎She is going to be a complete nobody.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎There's nothing worse than drama and gossip while you have to get yourself ready to go to college, it's like trying to juggle knives while you learn about nuclear physics. The only difference is that she has a lot of secrets written in the knives and the last thing she needs is someone trying to pick it up, especially because her best friend in school is a walking secret and secret spiller. She is not ashamed of her sexuality, but there's no point in being out in this school, not even Lily is, but she doesn't hide it so everybody is always talking about her, the only reason she was not sent to conversion therapy is because her father doesn't care about that enough.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎It's Iara's first week, she is sitting in her usual spot, the closest to the teacher with Lily at her side, they have pretty much all classes together, which is fun, but terrible if they want to actually study, Lily always has an acid comment about someone, a fun conversation about literally anything, some celebrity gossip and literally anything but studying, after three hours of studying and trying to focus on whatever the teachers are saying she can finally rest, she had to pay for her food, which probably showed in her face because Lily offered to pay for her, she didn't accept it but next time she probably will, or won't actually eat anything.

They are sitting in the garden of the school. Yes the school has a garden you can go to while you eat. They are sitting under a tree, both wearing sunglasses, Iara is using it because she hates the sun and loves the night. Lily is using it so she can "look at whatever I want" Iara is eating her apple that cost ten bucks when she hears Lily whispering.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"... Damn... I would not mind having her ass yelling at me" Iara looks up and finds Anastacia yelling at some juniors, she has a dyed wine purple long hair, almost reaching her waist, light beige skin, piercing green eyes  and the uniform somehow looks good on her, she has a lot of curves being accentuated by the clothes, Iara has to hold herself from looking down.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Stop objectifying people, and we know you can't handle someone that is taller than 5 '8" She laughs when Lily puts her hands up acting offended. Lily is 5 '2 and Iara is 5' 6, Anastacia unfortunately is 5 '9. Lily keeps looking as Anastacia sits on a bench crossing her legs and talking with her friends.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"If I have the right motivation, I could handle everyone, and the daughter of the pastor, I would have the biggest motivation, like, ever." She smiles like she is seeing it happen, Iara had forgotten that she was the daughter of the principal, she is undeniably pretty, but from what she heard in the last year and saw in the last week her personality sucks. A lot. She used to bully Lily because she is a little weird, which is true but not nice to do it anyway, she somehow has a famous instagram account in the school and is a complete bitch to everybody except from the "popular" kids.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"She is also a fucking bitch no?" Lily once again has a malicious smile and Iara has heard the saying "hate sex best sex" coming from her mouth in different contexts to know what is coming. She already shakes her head in disappointment but it never comes, she hears a sharp breath coming from Lily and her voice becomes more desperate as she whispers.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"She is coming here, fuck do you think sh– shit." Iara looks up and sees Ana, she is prettier up close, she has simple makeup but it looks great on her. Anastacia doesn't look angry; she actually has a smile on her face and is looking straight at Iara, Lily hides behind her friend and shivers when Anastacia talks.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎— We haven't met. I'm Anastacia, come sit with us. — She points yat her friends sitting around the bench. Iara usually would just deny it with some excuses, but everything about this situation is making her angry. Anastácia didn't say hi, didn't acknowledge Lily, everybody outside is looking at her and the way she said it wasn't even a question. If it was Iara from three months ago she would yell and fight, but this is a new woman, one that does not get into fights, so she puts on her best fake smile and looks up.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Sorry, but no, you seem nice, maybe another day if Lily and I feel like it." She ignores Lily whispering for her to go, she doesn't even look like the same person who was talking about hooking up with this girl five seconds ago. Iara almost laughs when she sees a little twitch in Anastacia's eye, she looks at Iara, then at Lily like she just got here. She seems angry but laughs and Iara feels a little condescending but doesn't say anything.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"You must not be from here. You don't want to be friends with that... person, if you can even call it that, but you certainly don't wanna deny my invitation." Iara can't control herself and ends up rolling her eyes, which makes Anastacia raise an eyebrow like she can't believe what she is seeing. Iara gets up holding Lily's hand.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Lily's great, I'm her friend, you aren't so I'm not gonna sit with you and your little mafia, but like, good day to you!" She once again smiles as she begins to go back inside the school with Lily following her, very worried. As soon as they get inside and are completely isolated, Iara turns to her friend with a serious face.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Do you think they check the food? Cause if I'm gonna spend 20 dollars a day I might as well bring edibles here" Lily goes from worried, to surprised, to worried again, she takes a few seconds to recollect herself and finally she whispers scream pointing to the garden where they just came from.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Who gives a fuck about edibles!? You just fucked us, oh my lord, we are gonna be in hell for the whole year, you don't deny Anastacia, oh my god I'm gonna have a heart attack." She puts her hand on her chest and looks up at Iara.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"C'mon, I was so nice, stop being dramatic, even if she tries anything we just like, I don't know punch her in the face" Iara says and very relaxed as she shrugs and rests her body in one of the lockers, Lily looks at her like she is insane and now Iara is annoyed again.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Yeah, she's a bitch, but... fuck, I just feel like she is gonna remember us, and we don't wanna be remembered. I just now got a friend in school, what if she like, gets you expelled or something?" Lily's face goes from worried to sad in a flash, she may never say it, but Iara knows she was lonely in school, when they were together she never talked about her friends just the people she disliked, Iara sighs passing a hand through her hair and pulls Lily for a hug, which is weird because they usually hug in private not outside, where people can see, and mostly not sober

"It's gonna be fine, I am not leaving you, I wanna go to college remember? And like, you're the only rich friend I have, I can't possibly leave you" She feels as Lily relaxes and playfully slaps Iara's arm, after a little more than 10 seconds the smaller one separates looking up at Iara.

 
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"You are probably right, she is busy, she probably already forgot."

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"I will make those two bitches regret ever denying me." Anastacia says quietly after staying silent for five minutes. The only ones that hear it are Carol  and Josh, Carol is a brazilian woman, she is a brunette with tawny skin, 5'6 and brown eyes, she wears big glasses and her hair goes to her shoulders, Josh is a 6'1 man who also wears glasses, he is very muscular from playing football, has a dark brown skin, his hair is stylized in locks and he has a scar in his arm. The three of them have spent every possible moment together since kindergarten, Josh is the first one to speak, he calmly points out.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Did... did they even do anything? Don't get me wrong, I'm on your side, but we can't force them to sit with us."  Once again Anastacia's eye twitches, Carol continues what Josh said.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"And girl, like, why would we even sit with them? It's the School Scissors and a new girl that probably is like, another scissors... did this make sense? Like did you understand what I meant?" Josh happily answers affirmative and they begin a discussion on how clever that just was, Anastacia has to massage her own head so she can calm down, she takes her water bottle and opens it, doesn't drink it, just stares at the place the two nobodies were sitting, interrupting the competition of sapphic woman nicknames Carol and Josh were having, she says.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"The tattooed one. She was rude. We are gonna kill her an–" They both interrupt her yelling a loud "what" that gets everybody looking at the popular table, she once again sighs, shaking her head and saying quickly and very offended. "Not literally! Obviously, I mean figuratively, like you know kill their social life or something"

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Carol and Josh make a resounding "oh" with the explanation, and Carol just shrugs "I mean you gotta explain things better Ana, but yeah we can kill them, figuratively, just like I figuratively will do the paper from yesterday" She smiles and Josh begins talking about how he can't understand the amount of work in the first week, Anastacia can't focus because she can still feel her blood boiling from getting treated like a nobody.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The rest of the day Iara doesn't even think about Anastacia, she is drowning in school work and having fun with Lily, she doesn't even feel Anastacia staring at her in all of the classes, luckily they have the same classes the whole day. Anastacia can see all the small details in her, the way she smiles and her eyes smile with her, she bites her bottom lip when she is working with something, and she pouts when she doesn't understand something, Anastacia just keeps getting angrier that someone like her didn't take her generosity. Anastacia sees Iara leave with... with... she doesn't remember the name of that girl but she doesn't like her.
