Siwoo loved poetry. Sometimes he even wrote his own, although, to be honest, he found only a few things in the universe that truly inspired him to write. He often wondered what had stirred first the imaginations of poets like Anacreon, Qu Yuan, or Baudelaire in their time. What had been that image, flash, or fragment of thought that made them pour out words for years, making their names live on alongside their creations? There had to be something.
Now, as Siwoo glanced up from his notebook, he only hoped that his fluttering eyelashes weren’t too obvious as he cast glances at the boy sitting just ahead of him. He felt like parched earth which is reaching for a light drizzle.
the world is beautiful
and so are you.
Junho was engrossed in a book titled THE Metaphysics. Siwoo wished he had the courage to approach him, to talk about Aristotle’s philosophy and the true meaning of “meta ta physika.” He imagined the two of them losing themselves in the elusive phenomena of existence, then sharing their deepest secrets, binding their souls forever.
The school library was almost empty at this late hour. There were a few scattered students still preparing for the next day, but overall, the vast room felt empty. Actually, Siwoo too came here to study (he was still getting used to the high standards of his new school), but that day, he couldn’t bring himself to open a textbook. How could he focus on dry topics when Kim Junho had just given him that first spark of inspiration that stirs the desire to create?
burning uranium, the Uran cries –
purgatory of deadly life.
Siwoo had been studying at this new boys’ high school in Seoul for only a week, but Junho’s presence and aura had captivated him from the first moment. Though Junho wore the same dull blue uniform as everyone else, he stood out from the crowd. At first, Siwoo thought it was due to his striking looks, but soon he realized there was something genuinely different about Junho — even the other students treated him as if he were unique. Some boys followed Junho with an almost strange adoration, while most looked at him with slightly covered disdain. When Siwoo had asked his new friends, Hyunshik and Minjun about this, they simply said Junho was very popular, and everyone had their own way of dealing with that.
I awkwardly gaze the skies.
Siwoo lifted his eyes toward the other table once more. Junho had closed the book he was reading, and as he prepared to stand up from his chair, suddenly, as if he sensed someone watching him, he raised his beautiful face. Siwoo couldn’t look away in time, so he watched as Junho’s big, dark eyes first looked at him in surprise, then a gentle smile spread across his flushed face. A smile meant solely for him. Junho instinctively tucked a piece of his dark locks behind his ear, and that was the moment Siwoo couldn’t take it anymore. He had to look away. It felt as if his heart would burst out of his chest, and all he could think was that he had never seen anything so breathtakingly enchanting.
He probably would’ve been swept away by the moment completely if his phone wasn’t starting to vibrate at that moment. Snapping out of his daze, Siwoo grabbed the phone in confusion. He saw an unfamiliar number on the screen and a short message. He hadn’t even read it fully before the world started to spin around him.

Hey new boy! Don’t you think it’s obvious how your eyes are constantly after Kim Junho? Haha, just kidding, no worries. Just making sure you check out our school’s sensation ;)
