The small town of Orange Field California, Open land, loving families, and le trépas. Le trépas is no living being but something out of a horror movie something no one would believe to be real. It’s said to take children ten through sixteen by saying someone is in danger or making small talk slowly luring people past the forest lines. The forest lines being the point you cant cross since it would be trespassing, But we had to learn the hard way that no one cares about the no trespassing signs.
Le trépas was named by itself said by a child, she was nine years of age, she was very persistent saying the tree and the man spoke to her, that they were very kind to her even knew her name. When we asked who the man was or looked like she only said that he had a funny accent when talking to her like he wasn't from here. when we brought up the Tree she looked away and played with her dolls, and ignored or moved when we tried to do anything with her. We later found out it’s the french words for ‘The Death’. We talked and begged are mayor to get someone to look into it, only for him to laugh at us,
“It’s sacred land, plus it’s a kid it’s normal for them to, imagine things you should be lucky she's not charged for trespassing.” all we could do was turn away.
The sad part of that day was he already knew about how many missing children that went into that place, they never came back. If someone looked into it are small town would become a city.
Years later, we found her body hung limb to limb to the trees, she was gutted like a fish and looked to be there for days a large kitchen knife still stuck into one of the many large trees. It was her tenth birthday, her mother told us she wanted to say it was her birthday to her grandma and grandpa who lived not far from them. Since it’s a small town that's normal we all know each other so if something happened we would notify her, but when she didn’t come back that’s when she knew something was wrong since her daughter was never late and always came home right before she started making dinner. Her mother at the time was cooking dinner already which was odd to her, she was making ham and birthday cake, saying that her daughter loved ham just like her father. However she was taken in for questioning and in court was found guilty for being on private property and the murder of her daughter, we never did find prints on the handle.
It’s funny how the world changes and the people in it.
My dad is the head of criminal investigation meaning I get front row in everything, investigations, I even get to watch when they question criminals, plus rarely taking pictures, but I love getting to slide under the radar and collect murder weapons and such for the police. However when the little girl died I did not want to go near the crime scene not with a ten foot pole, so that day I only heard the horrific story from my dad when he got home. I was scared to be home alone the next day it's just me and my dad, and now a murder. It all had to happen on my summer break.
It only got worse, we had more cases then ever
That's how we found out the ages, girls and boys all killed the same and all the same knife in the tree and some with the knife in there backs. We had one case of a boy he was the same age as me, sixteen. He was still alive and was found in the deeper parts of Le trépas according to my father. By the time they got there, his jaw had been removed and was no where to be found at the scene. Not even one week later a couple went camping on the 'Safe part' of the forest which is popular for camping and its long hiking trails, plus its not on the private property. Their ages 20 and 21. They said to the police that once they came back from walking on the old hiking trails, there was a human skeleton jaw on the the women's side of the tent with a rose shoved between the middle on its teeth. they said it looked like it had been slowly eaten away by something, almost like sulfuric acid. No one was harmed. Non of their belongings gone. They were taken into question.
