Turn the Chamber

Episode 1: Boring Bahnkohle

Episode 1: Boring Bahnkohle

Oct 18, 2022

“Vince. Vince, are you even listening?” Lenard's words made Vincent snap back to reality.

“Yeah yeah, I’m going to meet up with Joyce right?”

“That’s part of it. You have to fly down to Germany and bring Joyce here, can you do that?”

“Of course! Yeah, I can do that. As long as you’re with me this should be rather simple.”

“I should have told you, I have business elsewhere, we’ll meet in Venezia in one week. If you don’t make it I’ll assume you've died and I’ll go on without you.”

“Of course you do… Should I tell her what’s going on?”

“Don’t, she’s best left in the dark.”

***

"So, this is Bahnkohle," Vincent thought to himself, "There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot going on here. Makes sense, Joyce always said she wanted to live a quiet life."

While Vincent was walking he noticed everyone was dressed rather bland. Everything down to the grey and brown buildings was boring. He never considered himself much of a flashy dresser, but compared to everyone else he stood out like a sore thumb.

One house stood out, it was painted a light blue. "352 Fleetwood street. That’s the address Lenny gave me."

Walking up to the front door Vincent was nervous, he felt like his heart was going to explode. Taking in a deep breath he knocked on the door.

The door opened slowly and Vincent came face to face with a boy who seemed around 16 years old.

“What do you want?” the boy asked.

Vincent replied, “I’m uh looking for a woman named Joyce Stardust.”

The boy’s eyes widened and a transparent grey arm appeared to grab at Vincent’s throat but it was slow enough for him to dodge it.

'A soul channeler?' Vincent thought.

A red and grey humanoid soul appears next to him. The soul holds its fists out in front of it pointing at Vincent. Suddenly the soul starts shooting bullets at Vincent.

“Thunderman!” Vincent says and a robotic-looking soul appears and blocks the bullets. The bullets stopped so Thunderman threw a punch at the soul’s right arm with a loud clang. The boy’s soul quickly points his right arm at Thunderman and opens its hand to reveal a hole in its palm.

The soul cries out “BANG!” and a bullet fires out of the hole and it hits Thunderman square in the chest, knocking Vincent back a few feet landing on his back and his cell phone falls out of his pocket.

The boy walks over to Vincent and squats down. “Look, I don’t know who you are or how you know my mom’s maiden name just get out of my town.”

“Wait, maiden name? Mom? Joyce got married?”

“You’re asking way too many questions for someone in your position.”

“I’m just curious about an old friend that I haven’t talked to in a while. That’s all.”

“Yeah right, that’s what the other guy said before I kicked his ass and he ran away.” the boy’s soul held out its fists again. Vincent rolled out of the way of the bullets grabbing his cell phone in an attempt to keep a distance. Sparks fly from the phone in his hand and Thunderman starts glowing yellow.

Vincent dashes toward the boy blocking bullets with his soul. Thunderman unleashes a flurry of punches upon the boy’s soul, “Raaaaaaa!” his Thunderman cries with each punch leaving behind a burn mark. “ZAP!” Thunderman shoots a lightning bolt from his fist directly into the soul’s face.

The boy fell onto his back. “Kid please listen to me, you’re Joyce’s son so I don’t want to hurt you. All I ask is that I have a discussion with her if you don’t like how it goes, then you can try to kill me. Sound good?”

The boy thought about it for a second, “Alright”, he says standing up and wiping dirt off him.

“Cool,” Vincent says holding out his hand, “I’m Vincent Entruso,”

The boy reluctantly shakes it giving Vincent a suspicious look, “Joss Johnstone”

This is an edited and revised version of a fanfiction I posted in an amino community when I was 13! The edits and revisions are nothing huge, just fixing little things that bothered me and changing things around so it's not a fanfiction anymore, so this is still really close to the original! If you can guess what series this was a fanfiction for, then uh... good job I guess lol
