[Reyna’s pov]
Ever since I was brought into this world, I never understood the term “hero”.
In every human tale, the hero kills the demon king and humans live happily ever after. How boring. They make the demon king seem so weak.
“They dare send me such a pathetic sorcerer and call them a hero?!” I shouted at the prideful man who tried to kill me. He fell to his knees on the other end of the room. He had such a pitiful expression. Yet I felt nothing but ecstasy in that moment.
My grin was wide, my fangs were on full display, the horns erected from my head were pointed, my claws glinted like a newly sharpened knife and my eyes sent ungodly amounts of pure terror into the man before me.
“Is this all the human race has to offer me?! How pitiful!” I shouted once more, creating a hand gesture with one palm in the other, hand casting a spell only the highest of demon mages are able to conjure. Death Serpent.
“I am the demon queen! The epitome of darkness and conjuror of souls!”
As the spell was cast, the mana I was emitting was palpable. Snake-like mana beasts formed from the ground below me. Their size was impeccable and could compete with a Titanoboa. The snakes lunged at the defeated man with bullet speed. Four snakes bounded to his limbs and restricted his movements as the final two struck him in the kidneys.
As I watched the man’s sorrowful expression as he bled out, I whispered one last thing to him, “I am Reyna of the Demon tribe.”
That was the first hero I ever killed.
