Doreniel, a land millions of years old, but home to a simplistic, medieval society.
In the North East, the city Ulowyn can be found. In the Far East of the city is the castle of Queen Hewnrum, a peaceful but strict ruler, who cares for her kingdom but refuses to put up with any messing around or lawbreaking. Minor lawbreaking can result in a minor fine – major crimes can result in lifelong imprisonment or death.
The kingdom is fairly relaxed - with two main rules: don’t harm nor kill another human and don’t attempt, commit, or plan to commit treason. Abide by these rules and your life in the city should go smooth.
The majority of the city is populated by humans - most non-humans avoid the city out of fear of being hunted.
The streets are stone, with a mix of wooden and stone houses. In the centre of the city a large market is found, with sellers of household goods, food, medicines sold by herbalists and witches, and even the occasional seller of animals and the all popular dwarf gryphon - a favourite pet amongst the land.
To the North West is Galelacia, often referred to as 'the cold place'; it's a barren land covered by snow and rocks, often snowing or raining, hence the nickname. It's also surrounded by many tall mountains, and for the most part is avoided by humans, predominantly populated by wolves, boar, reindeer, bears, were-people and a rumoured dragon or two.
To the West, underneath Galelacia, there's Nedriwin - the Outlands - home to those who were banished from the rest of the kingdom. The land is surrounded by high, rocky outcrops, making it hard to travel through. The majority of the land is covered by sand and rocky plains, the occasional wheat field, or sparse forest.
In the East, there is Viswen, known simply as 'the wild' or 'the great forest'. As the nickname tells, Viswen is a land of thick forest, moss covered ground, streams and lakes.
A large river flows through the middle of Viswen, leading North West through the centre of Galelacia, where it becomes cold and dangerous to swim, and fish become scarce.
Viswen is populated by the remaining unicorns in the land, gryphons, were-people, fairy-folk, even the occasional pixie or witch.
It's also a prime hunting ground for huntsmen, some even paid by the queen to rid the land of certain pests which may have been causing issues in the city.
Viswen is also known to be the remaining hiding place of harpies; amongst the forests and high cliffs, less than 100 are said to remain due to the constant hunting of their species, mostly due to their carnivorous tendencies, and the occasional consumption of livestock, or the farmers.
It's said that Viswen became the healthy forest it is today thanks to a large forest dragon in the past, Tersayd.
Legend says that she fell for a human, but as he aged, he grew sick and passed away, and she wept until her tears soaked the earth, bringing about the rivers, trees, lakes and plants that grew throughout.
Lastly, in the North, there is Niragan - the 'hot place' - a land of rock, sand, heat, and the dormant volcano known as Liredus, named after the fire demon said to slumber amongst the lava within. Niragan is home to few creatures, mainly centaur, gryphons and a few plucky young harpies - although it's debated whether or not they're still living there, amongst the heat and scorched sand.
