Stop it...
There is no more time...
Rowan opened his eyes all of the sudden. The windows were pitch black and in contrast, the inside of the wagon was brightly lit in obnoxious white lights. He sighed tiredly and checked his phone.
No signal.
It made sense as the train was passing through a tunnel, and once it gets out of it, he'll finally be in the city of Litina, his new home as of that day. There were no more people in the wagon, only Rowan. He looked at himself in the reflection of the window with a smirk on his face, knowing that he will be living alone in a completely new city, away from his parents, something that couldn't make him happier.
Suddenly a bright, yellowish orange, ray of light pierced through the window towards Rowan's eyes as he was taken aback, making him cover his face while the whole place bathed in a warm and cozy color.
"Ouch." He complained out loud.
Once he opened his eyes again, he stood up and walked towards the window without being able to take his eyes of the landscape. The entire of Litina during sunset was visible from the train, making the city, its skyscrapers, roads, houses and the sea in the southern part of the town, shine in beautiful shades of yellow, orange and pink.
"My new home." Said Rowan to himself while smiling euphorically and excitedly.
After being overwhelmed with the scope of the city —meaning he got lost— Rowan got to his apartment building located in the East district. It was massive. He wondered how many floors the building had.
His apartment was located in the 15th floor, fortunately there was an elevator so he didn't had to carry the heavy luggage up the stairs.
Ding!
He walked off the elevator and headed through the elegant corridor towards his new home. It had already become night and he knew he had school the next day, therefore he wanted to get enough sleep to look the best for what's waiting tomorrow. He paused. His eyes locked in the door right in front of him. He had arrived. But just as his hand barely touched the handle, the door next to his opened and from the darkness behind it, a girl with short brown hair and beautiful big eyes emerged with a curious smile drawn in her pretty round face.
Rowan's heart skipped a beat and with blushed cheeks, he stared at her without being able to move a muscle.
"Hello." Said the girl with the sweetest voice Rowan had ever heared as she leaned on the entrance of her apartment.
He tried to act cool and hide his surprise. "Well hello."
The girl noted the big suitcase he was carrying and got closer to him. "So, it seems we are going to be neighbours!"
"Yeah, that seems li-"
Rowan suddenly blacked out and fell to the floor.
Thousands upon thousands of images were proyected into his head at such speed that he couldnt process what was going on. He started to panic. He screamed, but no sound came out of his mouth. He cried, but no tears came out of his eyes. He trembled, but all his body did was lay in the floor not moving a millimeter.
"WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING ON. WHAT IS GOING."
Abruptly, everything stop. He couldn't feel anything, only see. There was a blonde girl thrown on the floor, soaked in a pool of blood with a huge hole in her chest. Her expression was that of complete horror and pain, her eyes were black filled with red tears. Rowan saw in horror, as he couldn't do anything, as he couldn't shout, as he couldn't cry, as he couldn't move... all while those red, dark, broken, sad and horrific eyes were staring right at him.
