A shadow rushed through the busy town market, followed by six bigger. The small shadow was a young boy around 16 years old. He was like a horse running for it's life.
The boy turned into an alley, that seemed dark enough to hide. He squatted down to become smaller and waited in silence.
His breathing was heavy and his chest burnt from the long run. His blue hair that was originally in a copf became disheveled and some thin strands rested on his cheeks. It was quit a lovely sight.
The alley was empty aside from a few homeless people and the sound echoed through if it was too loud. Therefore he tried taking deep breathes to not make much noise.
After squatting for a while the rough voices of the chasing people disappeared. He walked out from the dark while patting the dirt from his clothes. On the black shirt the dust was clearly visible. He frowned while cleaning himself.
Suddenly a hand grabbed his neck from behind and pulled his body back to the alley. He was thrown onto the ground and felt a heavy weight on his chest. As he looked up the form of a beautiful girl reflected in his silvery eyes. Her leg planted onto his chest with a little strength from it's owner.
" Renee?! "
The girl instinctively put her hand onto the boy’s mouth. Grinning wildly she stood up after the boy quieted down and waved leasurely.
"Hi, Chris! "
The boy’s face become dark from the shame.
" What in God’s name are you doing!?"
Renee covered her ears from the shout, pouting with her cherry lips she was the epitome of cuteness.
" Can’t you see? I’m trying to save you. "
" I can’t. Too dark in here… "
Smack!
He got a huge fist from Renee as a reward for trying to be funny. She took off her leg from his chest, stepped back and stood with folded arms.
" You see, my dear brother. I need a li~ttle help. "
Chris’s face became red hearing this shameless sister of his.
" You still have the face to ask for help, after hitting me with a fist?! "
She rolled her deep blue eyes at the whining.
" Don’t whine! It wasn’t that strong... "
While standing up with aching body Chris had a bad premonition.
" Anyway; as I played with my lovely dagger I dropped it into the basement. "
Hearing the story Chris started to backaway from his sister. It was futile. He was grabbed by the collar of the shirt.
" Help me bring it up. "
The sister had and evil smile and Chris started sweating.
" Are you scared going alone? I never knew you had feelings... "
He looked at her sister as if she was the most idiotic creature in this world, thought they looked alike as twins do. He planned to play the dumb brother not knowing what she meant.
That basement was their late father’s library and work room. He was an alchemist and his researches were scary. No one wanted to enter if they could avoid it.
She put her hand onto her waist and furrowed her brows.
" So? You’re coming or not? "
Chris made a long sigh as he massage his temple.
" Fine. I’m not that heartless… "
As a cute little brother he couldn’t abandon his sister and sacrificed his pride. Although they were twins so there wasn’t any difference in age.
