"Raise the shield commander Zulu," ordered captain Pittard.

"Brace for impact!" shouted Jodica the helmsman.

They were under fire from the robot alien fleet. Captain Pittard told Jodica to turned their ship and firing their photon cannons at the enemy fleet, destroying several robot alien ships in quick succession.

"Wow! he's so cool mom!" Sebastian raised his hands cheering at the TV as the robot alien fleet retreats.

Her mother hugged him.

"Mom, i want to be like him when I’m big!" looking at her mother.

"I'm sure you will.."

“But mom.. can i be like him? I’m..”

Her mother smiled and looked at the stars outside "Well.. If you wish upon the stars, all your dream will be granted.. just like mine.."

"Really mom?" his eyes beamed. He stared at stars and clasped his hands "I wish to be the best captain like captain Pittard!"

"Hey!"

"Huh?" he looked around the room.

"Hey you!"

"Mom?"

Her mother still smiled at him but she slowly faded away as the room became blurred.

"Mom!" he tried reaching for her.

"You there! oi!"

"Sebas!"

Sebastian snapped out of his reverie. The girl beside him called for him over the comm, pointing at their chief.

"What are you doing!? stop dawdling! we have work to do!" the chief yelling over the comm, waving his torch at him.

"Sorry.."

The chief looked the other way and began scolding other. Sebastian took a quick glance at the stars in front of him, he had been outside several times, but he couldn't helped marveling at the vastness and beauty of the stars.

"I wish, i could venture across the stars.." he murmured "yeah.. like that ever happen.." he ignited his torch and continued repairing the ship hull.

Exhausted, they were finally given time for a break. Sebastian and the girl went to the mess hall to get some meal. On the way, he walked past a monitor playing the same recording every day.

"Earth, our home was long gone.. now we-" said the lady on the monitor. 

He stopped to listened to her. 

"We must work together! you are the hope for our future-"

"Sebas?" the girl called.

"One day, when we reach our new home-"

"Ah! sorry Enid.. let’s go.."

At the mess hall, he and Enid stood in line to get their meal. Staring at the calendar on the wall, 325 years.. It's been that long huh..

The cook handed them a tray of steamed potatoes, few prawns and sliced tomatoes. They sat on the table at the corner, worst 23rd birthday ever he sighed seeing his meal.

"That's our last prawn.." the cook announced.

"You're joking?" shouted a guy.

The cook shook his head “Our tank almost empty..”

the other groaned in frustration "Can we even reach there?"

“Years ago cows, chicken then rats and now prawns.. aw man..”

Sebastian felt something on his leg, looking below, a was cat meowing at him.

He stared at his meal before giving all his prawns to the cat. He smiled seeing the cat happily ate the prawns, glad everyone voted against eating dogs and cats.

"Good girl.." Enid patted the cat.

Reality isn't like that movie he thought, his everyday life was not a grand space adventure, it's just a dull life of trying to survive inside this huge metal box, the only home they had until they reached their supposed new home, a planet called Leora.

And I’m just a pillar for the future generation who will reach there he sighed.

"Sebas, are you.. alright?" she asked him with concerned expression.

"Oh! yeah.. I’m fine," he smiled at her "this potato is good huh?"

He quickly ate his meal before they went back outside to resumed repairing the hull.

2 days later, Sebastian and his fellow repair crew were maintaining the ship generator. Something small flew in front of him, it disappeared in the blink of an eye. He shook his head i need more sleep. The generator started making a loud crackling noise.

The chief scratching his head "We need to replace it-"

"Chief, we almost run out-" mentioned the crew member.

"Harry!" the chief yelled "just-"

A loud bang and everything flew away, Sebastian managed to grab on to a pipeline beside him. He kept clinging on to it until everything stop ricocheting around the room.

"Is everyone fine?" he heard the chief.

“Sir we lost our gravity..” Harry mentioned.

“Harry! i can see that!”

Sebastian flew to checked one his fellow crew who was floating nearby, aside from few bruises, he was fine. He saw Enid floating on the ceiling, a pool of blood forming on her head, he leaped to her and brought her down, there's a huge laceration on her head,

"Enid!" he called for her as he laid her on the floor, she was unconscious.

The chief approached him "how is she?" seeing the wound, he tore his towel and told Sebastian to pressed the wound with it.

One of the crew informed the chief the generator was still operational but something prevented it from powering the ship thruster and the gravity system.

"That's impossible!" the chief flustered "check again!"

"I did sir.."

The chief ordered Sebastian to bring Enid to the infirmary. He nodded and carried her to the infirmary, before he left there was an announcement calling for everyone to gathered at the nearby mess hall or emergency shelter block.

The infirmary was crowded, one of the doctor told him to laid her on the bed. She strapped her on the bed and began treating her wound.

A nurse gasped looking at the monitor.

"What is that?"

Looking at the monitor, he was shocked, there was an unknown spaceship flying beside their ship before slowly moving underneath their ship. Another announcement, the captain was requesting the president to presents at the bridge.

Father..

He whispered to Enid he'll be back before leaving the infirmary and flew to the bridge. On the way there, he flew pass through crowds of terrified people; dogs barking and whimpered; cats scratching their owner in fear.

"Excuse me, let me through,"

Entering the bridge, he saw his father standing beside the captain, shaking his head while watching the monitor, the unknown spaceship now latched under their ship.

"Father!" he called.

His father was surprised seeing him "Sebas! what are you doing here?"

"Sir president!" shouted one of the bridge crew "they're contacting us!"

A hissing voice coming from the comm. "Ussaol frus! so fa los wort Garbitian!" it sounded excited.

Sebastian was stunned, so does everyone else.

"Hurs.. sos fa-" said the hissing voice.

A heavier voice talked over the comm "Fos Nekth sa ursvuse? savurs sel dros os dos vustona."

"Uv orrs.."

The transmission stopped and the bridge went silent, everyone looking at each other. Another loud thump, Sebastian felt his body getting heavier and landed on the floor, the gravity was restored, but it was a bit heavier than usual he thought.

The captain ordered one of the crew to contacted the chief, inquiring about the power issue. The chief replied they haven't resolved it, he too couldn't figured it out how the gravity was restored.

"Your order, sir?" the captain asked his father.

"I.. maybe, we- we should try to communicate with them, telling them we are not- hostile," nervously rubbing his beard.

"How about sending symbols or pictures?" one of the crew suggested.

They heard a beeping sound.

The bridge crew shouted "They're contacting us again!"

"Hurs, we are Garbitian, we mean no amuss, we are the feus tes-"

Sebastian was bewildered.

"Did- did they spoke our language?" the captain eyes widen.
