Inside the dimly lit room, shrouded by tightly drawn curtains, a slender pair of bare feet peeked out from beneath the covers of a pale blue bed.
Startled by the knocking, the girl withdrew her feet back under the covers, cocooning herself securely.
"Nanshu, wake up! We've just been informed that there'll be a special guest today," the persistent voice from outside urged.
Lying still as a corpse, Luo Nanshu mentally replied without moving a muscle.
Her manager, Ms. Wang, barged into the room uninvited.
With a loud "snap," the lights were switched on abruptly.
In an instant, the room was flooded with brightness, prompting Luo Nanshu to bury her face in the covers, rolling over in bed.
She feigned sleep.
Ms. Wang, upon seeing the décor of the room, almost choked in disbelief. It was plastered with magazines and posters of the movie idol, Fu Sijing. Every surface was adorned with merchandise—keychains, posters, you name it—as if the room existed solely to display Fu Sijing's belongings.
Ms. Wang couldn't help but feel exasperated by Luo Nanshu's obsession. But what really took the cake was the life-sized banner of Fu Sijing standing prominently in the room.
To an unsuspecting visitor, this could easily be mistaken for Fu Sijing's bedroom, not Luo Nanshu's.
"Luo Nanshu! You're an actress! Are you so desperate for attention that you're hitching onto Fu Sijing's popularity?" Ms. Wang scolded, grabbing her by the ear.
Without a word, Luo Nanshu twisted her face in displeasure, then shifted further under the covers, reaching for a pillow to cover her head, pretending not to hear.
"I swear, I'm going to throw away all this Fu Sijing stuff!" Ms. Wang threatened as she made her way to the side.
In an instant, the fangirl within Luo Nanshu awakened. She shot up from the bed, still groggy from sleep, struggling to put on her shoes. Her eyes barely open, she stumbled to block Ms. Wang's path.
"Ms. Wang! Isn't it common knowledge that I adore Fu Sijing?" she retorted, glaring at Ms. Wang.
Sighing, Ms. Wang couldn't help but admire Luo Nanshu's flawless complexion and delicate features. Despite the annoyance, there was something undeniably charming about her.
Taking a deep breath, Ms. Wang waved her hand, "Alright, tone it down a bit from now on. Don't wreck your own career chasing after Fu Sijing."
The next moment, as Ms. Wang turned away, she noticed Luo Nanshu's hand gracefully lifting the strap of her slip that had fallen onto her shoulder.
It was a natural movement, innocent yet suggestive...
Luo Nanshu lifted her enchanting gaze, still hazy from sleep. Despite her overall innocent appearance, there was a subtle allure to her, accentuated by a small, dark mole beneath the curve of her left eyebrow, adding a touch of seduction to her otherwise sweet countenance.
Leaning lazily against the table, she casually picked up a standee of Fu Sijing, holding it in her hand as she spoke, "Ms. Wang, I can't wreck it all by myself, can I? Fu Sijing doesn't even know me. How could I possibly wreck it?"
Ms. Wang was momentarily speechless.
Making sense! Not knowing him is actually a good thing!
With that realization, Ms. Wang's tone softened, "Go get ready. The show is about to start recording."
Despite it all, Ms. Wang couldn't help but be somewhat pleased with Luo Nanshu. She had the looks and the talent, and she didn't seem swayed by the attention from the fresh-faced newcomers around her. But there was one fatal flaw—she had her sights set on the entertainment industry's golden boy, Fu Sijing.
It's a tale of mutual, clandestine infatuation between a scheming conceited movie idol and a sexually innocent female starlet. Luo Nanshu, the red-hot actress, idolizes Fu Sijing. Despite claiming to steer clear of dating shows, Luo Nanshu, after a "face-smacking" revelation that her idol is participating, reluctantly accepts the invitation, moving into his abode. In the show which mixes truth and falsehood, what sparks of romance will ignite between them?
