I always was uneven about the thought of after dying, there were so many different opinions it was outrageous. What do I think? 

That is what this is about, What do I think?

The light was bright on my freshly opened eyes from a night's rest. Sorry, I should introduce myself, I am Zoe, I live in Sparta in the year of 744 (BC). I am 14 years of age as of yesterday.

I woke up to the smell of fire. One of my teachers was yelling.

“Out, get out! Fire, what do you do!” 

I hurry to the door, grabbing a vase and running out. Once I was out I ran to the creek by our school. The vase that rested by my bed minutes before was now filled with water to put out the raging fire. My mind was racing frantically as I rushed inside to help put out the fire, I was faster than most of the other girls of my age. As I bolted up to my sleeping place, I noticed the fire was raging more, but with help, I put it out at ease, or as at ease as you can be with a raging fire in your bedroom. 

The teacher allowed everyone to go back into their rooms except for me and my roommates, we bunked with another group of girls for the night, or till we can rebuild our room. I will most likely be involved in the building, I am the best architect of my year.

With the odd comfort of a different bed, I fell asleep, the smell of soot and ash filled my nose as I drifted off into a dreamless sleep. 

I don’t have a good introduction, let me give you a better idea of who I am. I am Zoe Angelos, meaning Life of Angel. I have two siblings one older, one younger; Balder Angelos, meaning light of angel, and Edan Angelo’s, meaning fire of angel. My father, Alastair ( meaning Defender of the people), is at war fighting for our protection against Athens. My mother, Selene (Meaning moon),  was busy tending to her pregnancy. 

My brothers have been preparing for war since seven years old. They visit only for holidays. The last I saw them was only last month. From what I remember they looked like this:

Edan has Golden Brown hair, and green eyes, he has a thin, tall frame.  Since he has such rare features, he has all the girls wrapped around his finger, he is almost 16 now.

My brother had short black hair and brown eyes, his frame was muscular, not thin, not at all. Back to the story:

When I woke up I got the news that the girls here would be married next week, which would end my life as I know it. I could be a priestess of Artemis, but I don't want to swear off men. So, I am running for it. I will go north, there is a city there, a city where I could get away from people, a place where women are free. And I was sneaking my way on a ship. I am bringing my best friend, Aeschylus, meaning shame, his parents showed little love to him. The ship we are going on could get us killed, We are more than likely going to die, and that's okay with me. The man that bought me has had two wives before me, no one has seen them, they say they died of natural causes, I know better than that.
